Historia
When a local journalist is found dead in an isolated spot on Roydon Common, lying beneath a hangman's noose on the anniversary of a teenager's suicide, DI Tom Janssen is asked to take on the investigation as a favor to local colleagues and must unpick the deceased man's life to discover how he came to be there. The dead man was working on something, a story he was keeping close to his chest, and even those closest to him, loved ones and colleagues, were kept in the dark. But what did he know that was so damaging as to be worth killing for?

I do like his characters
Revisado: 03-12-25
The only “ complaint “ is that I had a good notion of the main plot about the incident.

Engaging and hard to stop listening
Revisado: 07-07-24
I love listening to a voice which brings a story to life. The subtleties of the characters, the fact they seem real by their behaviors and reactions, and the interning stories makes this book an exceptional distraction from my own reality. I find the descriptions of location clear and visual, and each voice lends to the story’s sense of direction.

Characters not found anywhere else
Revisado: 01-28-24
This was a wonderful audible presentation. The characters and story line - although unsettling- were beautifully developed. The combination of stories within the main story enriched the readers understanding and although not for the faint of heart this creation is worth time as a creative composition and historical perspective piece .

Scene interrupted
Revisado: 01-28-24
I found the pattern of writing from the story line to his back story too disruptive to the main plot. I loved her writing and characters in the Reformatory but this writing was interrupted and slowed by the characters back story development .

Inspiring
Revisado: 03-03-23
Listening to the narrative read by the author inspires the reader to listen closely and understand. I purchased the book as well to be more easily able to review specific parts of the text, the illustrations ( which are engaging and informed) , and to share more easily with my partner. I have listened to many interviews, watched the often mentioned TED talk , and read a prior book, but this consolidation of research, the presentation, and organization is exquisite in its ability to enlighten and inform the reader as well as to define actions to affect change from within. I could never thank Brene Brown for bringing her life and her work into the experiences of my family and friends.

Historia
Artificial intelligence (AI) guru Steve Shwartz has grown frustrated with the fear-inducing hype around AI in popular culture and media. Yes, today’s AI systems are miracles of modern engineering, but no, humans do not have to fear robots seizing control or taking over all our jobs. In this exploration of the fascinating and ever-changing landscape of AI, Shwartz separates the facts from the tropes of apocalyptic science fiction.

Factual and Informed
Revisado: 12-07-22
It was refreshing to read something clearly written which put AI in a fact based perspective. The media is often a culprit in exaggerating the truth of some form of technology too sophisticated for non tech oriented people to unravel. This thoughtful presentation explains in simple terms a system often hyped by the media.
