Historia
As lead singer and songwriter for the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Anthony Kiedis has lived life on the razor's edge. Much has been written about him, but until now we've only had his songs as clues to his experience from the inside. In Scar Tissue, Kiedis proves himself to be as compelling a memoirist as he is a lyricist, giving us a searingly honest account of the life from which his music has evolved.

I never wanted to stop listening
Revisado: 12-27-19
It’s crazy how pretty much an autobiographical book, can seem like fiction, when your lives are so much different. The life Anthony Kiedis lived is so intense and so dramatic that it’s hard to comprehend, but extremely fascinating. I’ve always been a huge RHCP fan, so hearing the behind the scenes stories were very entertaining. The craziest part is that Anthony started living the “rockstar” life, way before he was a rock star. I love the way the story ends, and knowing that John just came back to RHCP makes it even more exciting. Looking forward to seeing them on more tours and looking forward to the story of the last 10 years.

Not nearly as good as Aztec
Revisado: 12-17-19
I am a big Gary Jennings fan. Aztec and the Journeyer are 2 of my all time favorites. I just felt that this book fell short of getting you to identify with and connect with the characters. Maybe it was the difference, between the reading and listening, or even comparing it with Aztec, but I just didn’t really love this one. I still think that the creative writing was incredible and the way Gary brings images to life is great.

Historia
For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

An incredible view of self-awareness
Revisado: 06-25-19
Although this book mentions not giving a f*** quite a few times, it's more about people being self-aware about who they are. it has a very interesting and entertaining perspective of how we view ourselves and how much we care about how others view us. I never wanted to stop listening, because of the honesty and bluntness of the message it was conveying. I really enjoyed out the author used real life experiences and perspectives of other authors as well. this is a book that I will not only recommend to others, but will read again over and over throughout my life.

Historia
For David Goggins, childhood was a nightmare--poverty, prejudice, and physical abuse colored his days and haunted his nights. But through self-discipline, mental toughness, and hard work, Goggins transformed himself from a depressed, overweight young man with no future into a US Armed Forces icon and one of the world's top endurance athletes. The only man in history to complete elite training as a Navy SEAL, Army Ranger, and Air Force tactical air controller, he went on to set records in numerous endurance events.

if I could give it 8 stars, I would
Revisado: 05-31-19
This is one of the greatest books about mindset that I've ever read and may have ever been written. The best part about it, is that it's not someone telling you how you should think or what you should do, but it motivates and inspires through what someone actually went through. I can't tell you how many times, while reading this book, that I did something a little extra that I never would have just because I thought "what would David Goggins do." I love the way that it challenges you, not only to defy the odds, or the naysayers, but to defy science. If you ever want to listen to a book that can change your life or at least give you a new perspective on limitations, this is the one for you.

Jesse Itzler kills it!
Revisado: 04-05-19
Anyone that lives their life the way Jesse does has always impressed me. The kind of people that will never take no for an answer and are going to succeed no matter what. the entire story is entertaining from front to back and the narration is phenomenal and hilarious. I think it's the great story all around considering that "Seal" is now on the cover of every workout magazine known to man even though he never wanted any notoriety. there are too many books that I could read or listen to more than once, but this is one exception for me.

Mitch Albom, once again impresses
Revisado: 02-06-19
The story of Frankie Presto is done so well, that you actually believe he was one of the greatest musicians of our time, even when he never existed. The intertwining of the story with reality, and the musicians we all know, is done incredibly well, and the guest appearances just add to thee believability. I enjoyed this book from the cover to cover and will recommend it to anyone that I get a chance to.
