Pretty slow
Revisado: 08-29-24
I have been following this series for quite a while now and it’s good storyline. This one seemed like a filler more than anything. Not much really happened throughout the book.

Just ..dull
Revisado: 05-02-23
The narrator is amazing as always but the story was flat. Magic has zero depth, the battles are boring and the characters just don’t develop with any depth. I listened to it on 1.5 speed for the last book just to finish the trilogy. Painful

Exceptional
Revisado: 05-23-21
This series is exceptional. I tend to be a very discerning individual and it is hard for me to find an author and narrator that I truly enjoy.
This is the first book series of James Islington that I have listen and I truly enjoyed listening to the story unfold. Michael Kramer is an exceptional narrator.

Narration is tough to get past.
Revisado: 02-21-20
Great story but the narration is stilted and robotic. At the same time every sentence is spoken in the breathless tones of a stage drama. I had to increase the narration speed to get through it.

Slow start to the series
Revisado: 07-18-19
I love the series but the first book is super slow. It just takes to long to get interesting. what are used to recommend the book series two people I would always tell them to start with the second book so that they would actually continue with the series.

Shakespeare in the park..boo
Revisado: 01-25-19
I am an enormous fan of Salvatore but the narrator on this one I just can't handle. I have read the book but I'm going to have to skip this one on audible. Almost as bad as a narrator Richard Byers is using.Sounds like a theatrical version. Wish I could get my credit back.

ROMANCE NOVEL..not what I was looking for!
Revisado: 01-21-15
Would you try another book from Erin M. Evans and/or Dina Pearlman?
The story is full of weak indecisive characters. There was nothing that mad me want to finish the story, no powerful characters,no epic battles, no wicked artifacts....nothing but inner turmoil.I did finish the story but on 1,5x speed and in short bursts.
Has The Adversary turned you off from other books in this genre?
I have been reading this genre for over twenty-five years and I am not about to stop but I will not be reading anymore Erin Evens work.
Which character – as performed by Dina Pearlman – was your favorite?
I thing the narrator did a fine job but I truly have no favorite.
What character would you cut from The Adversary?
All of them. Sorry but not one with a backbone.
Any additional comments?
The general character types and story line had a lot of potential. Could have been epic. Instead we get a Harlequin romance novel.
