Historia
Thirty-year-old Black woman Sidney Taylor is a talented early American history professor, working in fast-paced Washington DC, with her eyes on promotion. She's also currently persona non grata. Who knew that making an inconvenient historical discovery would see her stuck at her desk, shuffling paper? So when she receives an anonymous and very cryptic invitation to visit historic small-town Robbinsville, North Carolina and hunt for a missing archaeological treasure—with a million-dollar payout at stake—it's one she can't refuse.

Already waiting for the next!
Revisado: 01-06-25
I was so happy to find this book! I tried it on a sale, and was happy that it was a nice, long book and after about 15 minutes, I was hooked! Finished in two days, I couldn't stop listening! Smart, adventurous, and a mix of fact, fantasy, sci-fi and current events blended in a way that's highly engaging. The only negative I see is there aren't more in the series yet!! I listen to a lot of books, and this is a series I'm eagerly awaiting the next adventure!

Historia
Jamie Fraser and Claire Randall were torn apart by the Jacobite Rising in 1746, and it took them 20 years to find each other again. Now the American Revolution threatens to do the same. It is 1779, and Claire and Jamie are at last reunited with their daughter, Brianna, her husband, Roger, and their children on Fraser’s Ridge. Having the family together is a dream the Frasers had thought impossible.

Not my favorite of the series.
Revisado: 11-27-21
I love the characters, but feel this book holds waaay too many flashbacks/recaps and explanations of thoughts - there really isn't as much plot to it as previous books, yet it is insanely long! 2/3 of it could have been cut and it would've been much more enjoyable for me and had me looking forward to the last book in the series. This left me wishing this had been the last one.
