According to Goldberg, if the greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn’t exist, the greatest trick liberals ever pulled was convincing themselves they’re not ideological. Today “objective” journalists and academics and “moderate” politicians peddle some of the most radical arguments by hiding them in homespun aphorisms.

an absolute joy to listen to. Jonah is an amazing writer and narrator. it's as relevant today as when he wrote it too. perhaps more so.

Historia
Accused of creating a bogus Red scare and smearing countless innocent victims in a five-year reign of terror, Senator Joseph McCarthy is universally remembered as a demagogue, a bully, and a liar. History has judged him such a loathsome figure that even today, a half-century after his death, his name remains synonymous with witch hunts. But that conventional image is all wrong, as veteran journalist and author M. Stanton Evans reveals in this groundbreaking book.

A Textbook on "McCarthyism"
Revisado: 12-11-20
M. Stanton Evans brings all the receipts. Very dense but very worthwhile read. Tom Weiner is also one of my favorite narrators. The chapters break down into 30 min sections so its easy to digest bit by bit. Unfortunately the book goes through so much new material ( at least for me) that a second listening is almost required. I'd still recommend it very highly especially if you like history.
