It only takes one moment to change the course of someone’s life. One moment to link two souls forever. That moment came when I pulled her out of her darkest hour. The tragedy that threatened to swallow her whole and shatter her innocence.

IDK about this one…
Revisado: 12-21-23
OVERALL: The story sent creepy vibes. I can accept age gaps in a story but it sends the wrong message about parental figures who raise children then get it on with them as adults. IDK if a person is adopted or not, if a child is raised for more than a decade with a person, in the same house in every way that matters as a parent would- it’s wrong. This story basically normalized the relationship between Woody Allen and Mia Farrows adopted daughter. Obviously the difference is she was adopted but that’s just a piece of paper. The main character had legal guardianship so it’s just as bad. And for certain characters being accepting of their relationship is ridiculous; there was nothing mentioned about other characters thoughts. And the ending was so far out of the way…it’s like the author had to think of something but it came from out of nowhere and didn’t mesh well with me.
NARRATORS: LUUUUURVED Christian Fox! He was pure perfection. I stopped listening to him for a while bcz he kept talking so fast. But this was perfect. The female was pitchy but alright.

Just six years old when my brother was snatched off the street, I grew up in the aftermath of tragedy. While other kids were happily playing in the sandbox, I was hiding under press conference podiums listening to my parents beg for Jake’s safe return. People ask if I’m screwed up after what happened, and I never know how to respond.

I listen to the whole series again every time a new book comes out and I can’t believe I didn’t leave a review. I got to meet Jill, her mom, and brother last year at a book signing in Vegas. I DIED. When I tell y’all I fangirled out, I mean that in my soul! I even got to meet Andy and Zach. I was too in shock to fangirl over them. Anyway, this series is simply THE best. I still have nearly 300 books to listen to but when all else fails, I return to my true love, C.A.K.E.! ❤️❤️❤️

University student Anna Winslow has gone missing. The circumstances of her disappearance are far from ordinary, a fact that only fellow student Melissa Lopez appears to appreciate. Motivated by an unexplained and disturbing voicemail message from Anna on the night of her disappearance, Melissa's curiosity quickly turns into a deeper investigation, an obsession even, which she chronicles as a regular podcast - the very recordings that you are about to listen to.

At first, I thought I’d hate spending the summer with Archie Remington—the conceited son of my parents’ friends. What I knew about Archie: He was gorgeous, pre-law, and had always treated me like I didn’t exist when we were younger. When our families bought a house together on an island in Maine, he and I were forced to share a bathroom.

Big sigh…
Revisado: 03-15-23
Great narration by Jacob. Erin is an overall B narrator in this book. She’s better in this one than in others but she’s still holding on to those syllables like fat kids hold twinkies.
The story was a good and annoying. I can’t believe Noelle pined over this dude for so long. Gosh- kinda made her seem desperate. Archy is a ho with old fashioned beliefs in shot gun weddings yet he’s willing to be his besties baby daddy? Right. Made no sense to me either.
Archy “loves” Noelle but doesn’t really show it until forever later bcz he doesn’t trust himself not to hurt her. After 31 chapters and 12 billion years later he just realized that? Biiihhh…she should’ve stayed with the old dude. I hope there’s a story for him like Neighbor Dearest.
Oh and at one point Archy bought a house down the street from Mariah, then later it becomes an apartment. How?
Stuff I wished I would’ve heard:
- More interaction between Clancy & Noelle
- Cat fight between Mariah and Noelle
- Noelle taking a break from Archy’s drama
- Noelle actually getting pregnant
That’s all. I’m sleepy.

Worst then the first book!
Revisado: 12-29-22
90% of the story is basically about a whole lot of nothing. Way too many filler scenes and pointless dialogue.
Semi mock ex: We had a storm. I went into the Landry room, flicked on the light but the light didn’t work. I grabbed a candle. Then I came back in the room and lit the candle. Then we could see each other.
ARE YOU SERIOUS?!
I thought book 1 was dumb and only listened to book 2 bcz I bought it a while back. Plus JM is narrating so I can’t deny my inner Fangirl of his delicious voice. Anyway, the 2 brothers are freaky freeloaders who take advantage of a naive and lonely girl with mental health issues. NOT COOL or entertaining.
I can’t believe I still have 4 whole hours to go, ugh. If it wasn’t for JM’s sexy, silky voice- I’d be so over this book. The female narrator is good but I hate all the characters as well as the storyline. Make no mistake, I love a character whose bossy in the bedroom…but it’s weird brothers are having sex with one girl at the same time, it’s incest. Barf.
I’ve read some of the comments so I know it’s gonna end in a cliffhanger. I won’t be purchasing it. Well…maybe I will if JM is narrating and it’s on sale for $1.99. Outside of that, I won’t be buying. Nor will I ever buy another book written by this author. Unless JM is narrating. 😂😂😂

Historia
I’ve been in this life for fifty years, been trying to work out its riddle for forty-two, and been keeping diaries of clues to that riddle for the last thirty-five. Notes about successes and failures, joys and sorrows, things that made me marvel, and things that made me laugh out loud. How to be fair. How to have less stress. How to have fun. How to hurt people less. How to get hurt less. How to be a good man. How to have meaning in life. How to be more me. Recently, I worked up the courage to sit down with those diaries.

The voice and story of a total NARCISSIST!
Revisado: 08-23-22
Now I know why I hesitated to get this book, it’s simply TERRIBLE! Each time I fell asleep listening to Matthew bragging about himself, I literally work up hearing Matthew brag even more about himself. 😑
After 2 WEEKS of listening, I finally made it 1/2 through the book when I decided I couldn’t even listen to another moment of how great and good looking he is with the perfect life and odd family fighting. There was absolutely NO feeling in this book, particularly at the mention of his fathers passing. He’s an actor for goodness sakes. You’d think he would’ve made more of a connection during that chapter but NOPE! There were too many weirdo moments of speaking softly with quick pivots to shouting in between moments of chuckling about how great he is! 🙄
I think it’s safe to assume all the die hard Matthew McConaughey fans are the sole reason why this book received such great reviews. He even bragged about how great his writing was at a young age…only to be told by his mom that it’s okay to plagiarize written works of art. Who does that then follows it up with, ‘green light’?! Uhm, a narcissist that’s who!
I only got this book bcz my annual 12 credits came around and I thought, okay- I’ll give it a try. If I hadn’t fallen asleep before the book ended, I would try to return in but I guess I’m stuff with this garbage.
Matthew, you’ll never read this and that’s okay but if you or someone who works for you does read it please know this…
Your writing is terrible and you have zero humility. You’re a muuuuch better actor than an author and you should never write or narrate another book again. Also, your romantic comedy ran its course so I’m glad you started taking more serious roles bcz your performance started feeling like something you’d expect on the LifeTime Movie Network.
Green light, you narcissist!
PS- I read another persons review that mentioned a part in the book where Matthew basically tricked his wife into coming to his house, tried to get her to have sex with him then held her hostage at his house with no cell coverage until the next day. I guess that was supposed to be charming or something, I’m not sure but I’m glad fell asleep during that part bcz it’s disgusting and disturbing.
Get a bumper sticker for that!

In my book, you will meet a little girl named Viola who ran from her past until she made a life-changing decision to stop running forever. This is my story, from a crumbling apartment in Central Falls, Rhode Island, to the stage in New York City, and beyond. This is the path I took to finding my purpose but also my voice in a world that didn’t always see me.

Best memoir of 2022!
Revisado: 07-10-22
Viola Davis is a name I’m familiar with. I wouldn’t say I wasn’t a fan, I loved her in The Help, so perhaps I was a pseudo fan. After listening to her book, in her own words, the passion nearly brought me to my knees. I loved every single word. I could relate to her self deprecating feelings completely. She gives me new hope for a positive future with a past filled with adversity. Nothing close to what she went through but we all have our battles. Her pain was/is mine and felt by so many black women. I’m so thankful that she shared her story. I can’t wait to watch everything she’s performed in now that I know her more intimately. Viola, you probably won’t read this but I can’t thank you enough for the bravery it took to write such a compelling piece of work. Thank you from the heart of every little black girl and grown black woman who hasn’t felt worthy. You are a living testimony that we are! Nicole Gallon, Hopewell, Virginia. ❤️

Historia
Lexi Morgan has always had "The Touch;" the ability to pick up an object and 'see' its past. Doomed to wearing protective gloves at all times, she learned to accept it as equal parts gift and curse. When her brother in law Neil disappears, she'd rather tell her sister to celebrate than try to help find the jerk. But after her young niece vanishes as well, it's time to put her gift to good use and help track her down, especially when handsome Detective Gabriel Ryan takes over the case.

A complete fail!
Revisado: 01-20-22
This book had so much potential but completely failed in plot, character development, research and any sense whatsoever! It’s like an inexperienced teenager wrote this book. The BEST thing about this book is the narrator, Andi Arndt. She’s the only reason why I listened to the book in its entirety.
Issues:
1- Your daughter is missing but you have a slumber party and paint your toes with your sister and no one calls the FBI?! Sure…
2- You have a special gift for “seeing things” but you don’t use it to check everyone around you…especially when you know your family has a history of mental health issues and 2 people in your immediate family are missing; 1 being a child.
3- In the middle of an investigation, you flirt with the detective who suspects your sister and for absolutely no reason, he trusts you with career ending info on said sister! Sure…
4- How does a woman carry a grown man from a house and into a trunk? Sure…
5- Basically everything after the first 3 hours is absolute GARBAGE!
I expect fictional implausibility at times, but ma’am, it should also make reasonable sense. Instead of buying this book, use the $7.49 to buy something else worth your time and money. This book is most certainly not it.

Revisado: 07-22-21
Y’all I loved every second of this book. I only got 2 hours of sleep last night. The narrator is new to me but she did an amazing job. And Corinne Michaels, well, she’s one of those authors with substance, yanking out your soul and putting it back together again. You Loved Me Once is simply amazing and beautifully written.
Our heroine, Serenity is smart yet broken. Loving, yet guards her feelings. She has to make difficult decisions to balance what’s right- sometimes those choices come with consequences. As for the love her life, the alleged soulmate. Well, he was a selfish douche canoe with no sense of empathy. She should’ve been over him long before she finally got over him but the problem with that is, that’s the reality of life.
