Delightful intrigue, well performed
Revisado: 08-11-17
This is one of those books that keeps you thinking and engaged until the very end with a level of mystery and intrigue that is truly delightful. The narration is excellent and the story is so captivating that stamp collecting is something that I actually think about now, even weeks after finishing the book. The setting of the story, taking place at the bookends of the Cold War, provides a fascinating backdrop that brings the characters vividly to life. This is a great book for anyone with an interest in the fall of the Berlin Wall/Cold War era, World War II, perseverance, resistance, or anyone who might be able to relate to watching a loved one slowly slip away and wishing you had some way to recapture what had been lost.

Historia
A spellbinding historical novel about a woman who befriends Ethel and Julius Rosenberg and is drawn into their world of intrigue, from the author of Margot. On June 19, 1953, Ethel and Julius Rosenberg were executed for conspiring to commit espionage. The day Ethel was first arrested in 1950, she left her two young sons with a neighbor, and she never came home to them again. Brilliantly melding fact and fiction, Jillian Cantor reimagines the life of that neighbor and the lives of Ethel and Julius.

Awesome book
Revisado: 01-04-17
This book was a fascinating, thoughtful look into what must have been a very surreal time in history. The plot was excellent, it kept me listening for much longer than I intended every time I turned it on. Additionally I was captivated by the challenges of the main character and her experiences and fears in raising a son with a condition that was so severely misunderstood back then. I highly recommend for anyone looking for an intelligent and entertaining read.
