I already love Cultivation, but my goad.. the way science, and cultivation was blended was absolutely amazing, I've always had ideas/thoughts that if "Magic" were real (technically it is in a matter of speaking), it would be like this, but I've not read anything where they've done built a world like said ideas/thoughts, but this.. keep in mind, just my opinion, is absolutely amazing! well worth the listen 10x over!

The story as usual carries the rating, unfortunately I'm like most others about the change in narrator, but he's settled into the characters more and made them have personalities that he hadn't before, in Pt. 1, thankfully that has been lessened, but it's still hard without Todd, sorry mate (Neil)

Man, the disappointment hit me like a semi..

To be honest, I've listened to the series up to the 5th, 4 times, then the 5th, once, finally, and I could never feel anything but joy for the series and the story, so I was elated to find, not just 6th part 1, but also part 2, AND the 7th, so I got all of then, restarted the series again as I always do every new book release, and having just listened to the 5th for the first time, being excited for the 6th, and then being dropped so hard that for the first time, I've thought about returning not just one, but 3x books for a series, and story that I love, genuinely upsets me more than it probably should.. I really don't know if I can even get another hour in, or if I should even try. Everyone has already said why, but the life, hell, just the differentiation of the characters and the world are as flat as a chalkboard, with somebody trying to write on it with a sticky note. Im sure the guy is a great narrator in other ways, but for most who have listened and emersed themselves into a world for 10s, or in my case, 100s of hours, it's just not there, out of all stories and series', this is by far tied as my favorite in that #1 spot with the Nightlord series, but if I were to include this book, and I can only assume, the rest now, well... that wouldn't be so anymore. The story is still a level of amazing that most will never be able to reach, but for me, the narrator just completely ruined it for me, and I hope it doesn't for others, because it feels pretty bad ngl.

So I'm not sure if I've ever rated a book lower than 5*s overall before, but mainly my only gripe of the sound effects, some of them just seem so out of place, the biggest thing about them though above the other, is the volume, they are incredibly loud sometimes. I have chronic migraines, which in itself sucks, but having a chime out of knowhere that is also louder than I would expect, is kind of rough, but overall I don't know if this is enough to affect other people as it does myself. The story which I didn't care for at first (just hadn't been able to get into it,) turned out to be great, glad I always keep on for an extra hour or two after deciding to maybe try something else, well worth the credit imo

The audio splicing wasn't that good, fair few times a sentence start, or a reply, and it would get between half a word, or a couple, and a half of words in, and that part would start over, nearly always from a different take during the session. Other than that, the narrator themselves was great, the story as well.

I loved the book, but as with the fourth, I disliked the narrator, made a few characters seem far different, even weaker than they were, should've been.

I love the series so far, but I dislike the change in narrator, I generally do dislike this situation. She does well enough, some characters have a voice clearly forced outside her easy vocal range, but ultimately, not an issue, just sounds off, other than that they did well, good book.
