Historia
After nearly eighteen months at Basgiath War College, Violet Sorrengail knows there’s no more time for lessons. No more time for uncertainty. Because the battle has truly begun, and with enemies closing in from outside their walls and within their ranks, it’s impossible to know who to trust. Now Violet must journey beyond the failing Aretian wards to seek allies from unfamiliar lands to stand with Navarre. The trip will test every bit of her wit, luck, and strength, but she will do anything to save what she loves—her dragons, her family, her home, and him.

Don’t blink
Revisado: 01-25-25
Seriously, don’t listen unless it has your full attention because wow! There is SO much packed into this book! I was listening while at work and I had to stop because it was just so detailed that I missed a lot when my attention was even slightly divided.
Such a great book!

Historia
Christmas was always Greta Copperfield's favorite time of year. Memories from that first Christmas with Bernard in Paris are some of her favorite—times before marriage, before children, and even before the Copperfield house, when the love she had for Bernard was the only thing she really understood. But all that was so long ago. Now, as the world comes to terms with the fact that Bernard Copperfield spent twenty-five years in prison for crimes that he did not commit, Greta stirs with confusion about her own past and future.

Ugh
Revisado: 12-07-24
Couldn’t finish this. Greta is horrible and so incredibly self absorbed! She’s more worried about her jealousy of her husband WHO WAS WRONGLY ACCUSED AND SPENT 25 YEARS IN PRISON and how her life isn’t fulfilled than maybe, you know, the guilt of not believing in her husband or apologizing. Nope.

This is a tough one to review
Revisado: 05-22-24
I loved the intrigue and was waiting for the hammer to drop on the bad guys, but it seems that the British secret service in this tale get away with murder in the end. The “happy ending” was ridiculous and the “cliffhanger” just reinforced the shadiness of the overlying theme. That being said the narrator was very good and made the story enjoyable to listen to.

The holidays are upon them and the ex has invited Jessie to meet his new fiancée. It's off to L.A. where Jessie will face her past and the wounds she didn't realize still lingered. Niamh, too, meets a blast from her past. This one, though, is ten times more dangerous. Re-connecting is a risk not even Tristan is sure they should take.

Not my favorite
Revisado: 03-12-24
I completely love The Queen but this one kinda went a bit wonky.
While there were definitely lol moments, and I am completely behind the annihilation of narcissism and women taking back their power, this installment of the series just goes way off the tracks of the 9 book build up. We left the last book waiting on the final battle with Momar and got a book about everything I mentioned. There are no battles, no build up, nada. Glad to see Jesse taking back her power and her ENTIRE ex’s family getting a classy put-down, but sh!t….can we PLEASE have the crew kick Momars A to the curb in the next book? Maybe have the ex’s family be complicit in some way so they can , IDK, meet the gnomes/dolls/flowers?? 😂

Holy Narration, Batman!!!
Revisado: 11-30-23
Wow! The reviews did NOT lie! The narration on this is over the top in all the best ways! It is one of the VERY few books I’ve listened to where the voice actors actually ACT….vs read words on a page. Bravo!
That being said, there was a time or two when I thought Jonathan might have an aneurism or coronary with all the yelling. 😂 Definitely not a soothing drone of recitation to listen to at work. And that’s not a bad thing! Just…keep the earbud volume low so you don’t get the side eye from coworkers. 🤭

I very rarely leave bad reviews but dang, I paid money for something I already read? The POV is different and we learn a few new things, but overall it’s just a rehash with no forward movement until the very end…literally the end of the last chapter.
THEN to leave on that cliffhanger?!
I’m sorry, but I’m calling HUGE foul. Nope. Not cool.

It's been over a decade since Nora left her hometown of Scupper Island, Maine, and very seldom looked back. She's carved out a successful life in Boston, where no one knows her as the awkward girl with the delinquent sister and the dad who left, but a not-as-dramatic-as-it-sounds brush with death has her taking stock of her life. Inspired to reconnect with her prickly mother and snarky teenage niece, Nora returns home for the summer, where she's forced to face the people she's spent the last ten years trying to avoid.
