Saddest day of my life
Revisado: 03-05-20
When I was six years old my dying father told me he wishes he could share a last ice cream with me. My mother stricken with grief and working 2 jobs to keep us three boys alive had little patience for such indulgences. So I did chores for the neighbors; mowing lawns and sweeping drive ways. Finally I saved up enough to buy two choc chip soft serves ice-creams and walked back home. Just as I entered our yard our dog darted closer and knocked me off my feet, sending the ice creams flying. Crying with a broken heart I walked into the house barely managing the utter the words to my father that we won't have that last moment together.
That will still not as heart breaking as finishing this book series.

Historia
For a thousand years the ash fell and no flowers bloomed. For a thousand years the Skaa slaved in misery and lived in fear. For a thousand years the Lord Ruler, the "Sliver of Infinity," reigned with absolute power and ultimate terror, divinely invincible. Then, when hope was so long lost that not even its memory remained, a terribly scarred, heart-broken half-Skaa rediscovered it in the depths of the Lord Ruler's most hellish prison.

Historia
Daniel Kahneman and Amos Tversky met in war-torn 1960s Israel. Both were gifted young psychology professors: Kahneman a rootless son of Holocaust survivors who saw the world as a problem to be solved, Tversky a voluble, instinctual blur of energy. In this breathtaking new audiobook, Michael Lewis tells the extraordinary story of a relationship that became a shared mind: one which created the field of behavioural economics, revolutionising everything from Big Data to medicine.

A great story behind great men.
Revisado: 03-05-20
A fantastic story behind men that defined a new era in behavioral economics. Don;t expect many life lessons though, the books is a historic account, but delivered very well.

Historia
The routine traffic stop that ends in tragedy. The spy who spends years undetected at the highest levels of the Pentagon. The false conviction of Amanda Knox. Why do we so often get other people wrong? Why is it so hard to detect a lie, read a face or judge a stranger's motives? Through a series of encounters and misunderstandings - from history, psychology and infamous legal cases - Malcolm Gladwell takes us on an intellectual adventure into the darker side of human nature, where strangers are never simple and misreading them can have disastrous consequences.

Epic Gladwell
Revisado: 03-05-20
Out of MG's latest books I would say this is the most topical and relevant. The ideas and discussions feel completely applicable to the challenges captured in the current social collective conversations. The book will definitely shape your views for a long time to come,

Great potential but somewhat gimmicky
Revisado: 03-05-20
Some great ideas that could be effectively boiled down to a few paragraphs stretched over a book that feel somewhat tedious at times.
Worth the listen as some ideas definitely get stuck in the conscious mind as a lens for future evaluation, just make sure you have patience to wade through a minutia of over-explanation.

Historia
All her life, Spensa has dreamed of becoming a pilot. Of proving she's a hero like her father. She made it to the sky, but the truths she learned about her father were crushing. The rumours of his cowardice are true - he deserted his flight during battle against the Krell. Worse, though, he turned against his team and attacked them. Spensa is sure there's more to the story. And she's sure that whatever happened to her father in his starship could happen to her. When she made it outside the protective shell of her planet, she heard the stars - and it was terrifying.

Another Branderson Classic!
Revisado: 03-05-20
Fresh feel to a Branderson classic. The characters are so real, even though set in a deep sci-fi story line. The introduction in Skyward explodes into a fantastical narrative that transports the characters and reader to new realms, taking all on a truly emotional journey that keeps the nerds in us guessing what will be around the next corner!

Good but buildup is slow
Revisado: 08-25-17
Story starts well but the journey feels overly tedious until the final act, where character development only really starts. But the ending does deliver.
