Historia
Half a century after the Doomsday Battle, the uneasy balance of Dark Forest Deterrence keeps the Trisolaran invaders at bay. Earth enjoys unprecedented prosperity due to the infusion of Trisolaran knowledge. With human science advancing daily and the Trisolarans adopting Earth culture, it seems that the two civilizations will soon be able to coexist peacefully as equals, without the terrible threat of mutually assured annihilation. But the peace has also made humanity complacent.

Good story. Soapy ending
Revisado: 04-21-24
This could have ended better. The main character is very unlikable. But that refreshing. I thought the ending was sloppy.

Entreating. But could be much more.
Revisado: 12-23-23
The book is very enjoyable. I thought the colonization was pretty straight forward and without much drama and unfortunate events. Which makes the book a little less thrilling and more of a documentary. I was expecting more thins go bad and more drama around it and at last more of human perseverance. Still waiting for the next installment.

Historia
Authors June Hayward and Athena Liu were supposed to be twin rising stars: same year at Yale, same debut year in publishing. But Athena’s a cross-genre literary darling, and June didn’t even get a paperback release. Nobody wants stories about basic white girls, June thinks. So when June witnesses Athena’s death in a freak accident, she acts on impulse: she steals Athena’s just-finished masterpiece, an experimental novel about the unsung contributions of Chinese laborers to the British and French war efforts during World War I.

It’s fresh and engaging. Loved it. Maybe even more than Babel. This author is getting better and better with each book. Good job.
