Historia
Each day we face a barrage of images and messages from society and the media telling us who, what, and how we should be. We are led to believe that if we could only look perfect and lead perfect lives, we'd no longer feel inadequate. So most of us perform, please, and perfect, all the while thinking, What if I can't keep all of these balls in the air? Why isn't everyone else working harder and living up to my expectations? What will people think if I fail or give up? When can I stop proving myself?

Thought provoking and relatable
Revisado: 04-22-24
I've read or listened to books by others on resilience, living a whole life, etc. I've found them either preachy or angsty. This was neither. Instead I found value in every chapter. Brené's writing and reading were real, relatable, practical, and in the end, positive and encouraging. I will be recommending this listen to others.

Historia
Scattered across the world, an elite team of code crackers is working tirelessly to thwart the defining cyber scourge of our time. You’ve probably never heard of them. But if you work for a school, a business, a hospital, or a municipal government, or simply cherish your digital data, you may be painfully familiar with the team’s sworn enemy: ransomware. Again and again, an unlikely band of misfits, mostly self-taught and often struggling to make ends meet, have outwitted the underworld of hackers who lock computer networks and demand huge payments in return for the keys.

interesting but not amazing
Revisado: 10-04-23
There is definitely a story here, but it is not presented in an amazing way. In an attempt to add real world interest the author has clearly read and reused Facebook posts, X threads and LinkedIn profiles. This results in banality rather than human interest.
The narration was ok, but it's attempts to distinguish quotes from emails and chats from the rest of the narration resulted in feeling like they were shouting IN ALL CAPS. They were real quotes, but not how a person would read them.
Overall I persevered but was glad when it was over.

Discover the outbound sales process that, in just a few years, helped add $100 million in recurring revenue to Salesforce.com, almost doubling their enterprise growth...with zero cold calls. This is NOT another book about how to cold call or close deals. This is an entirely new kind of sales bible for CEOs, entrepreneurs and sales VPs to help you build a sales machine.

Dated content, weird narration
Revisado: 11-05-22
There was some interesting content but many of the examples were dated (make sure it works on Blackberry). A lot of the recommendations are standard sales practice and there is a big focus on differentiating roles - SDR, AE, MRR. Maybe this was new when the book was written.
To confound things, the narration insisted on converting what must have been first person voice into third person, which made it stilted and was just annoying.

Some gems in here, but don't expect coherence
Revisado: 05-23-19
I love Tony's work, and the core of this audio book is excellent. The performance is fine too. However the writing style is challenging to listen to. The back-to-back metaphors and verbal cliches make me cringe. The content feels like it was compiled from a bunch of blog posts so there is a lot of repetition, and a lack of structure. My advice? Get the physical book so you can bookmark the key bits and skim over the chaff.

A few rays of light amongst the excess verbiage
Revisado: 01-07-19
I would recommend purchasing the print book or Kindle edition. This will let you skim read the excessive ego justification of part one, deal with the long and not very useful tables, and provide more helpful access to the useful instructions in part two.
The author clearly feels that all forerunners in the fields of design and entrepreneurship got it wrong. They spend the first part of the book justifying their position, and possibly their ego. The narrator did a great job of working through the excess words and pretentious language, particularly in the early chapters. The later part of the book is a mashup of much of the earlier work they disparage, reframed with new names.
There are some gems among this, or you could read The Lean Startup and learn Design Thinking and work much of this out for yourself.
