voices are so different
Revisado: 11-17-23
The voices are gritty and deeper then the original discovery of witches. It's not bad but it just takes a while to get used to. If I had realized there was different narrators. I would have waited a year before I listened to it. Otherwise it was a good story. The phoebe part did not interest me as much as learning about marcus mcneil. Definitely definitely worth listening to

A little bit too much emotional explanation
Revisado: 10-18-19
I had a really hard time getting through the parts where they were going over the emotional trauma of the humans. It just kept going on and on and on. So much so that I know there's more books in the series , but I just don't know that I wanna listen to it.

complicated

Struggled to listen to it. I rarely give up on a book but by half way, I stopped. I understand the writers idea, bring facets of a story together. it just kept going and going. It also became confusing on who was who and when. just not for me.

great characters return in this book.
Revisado: 05-02-18
I have enjoyed this series very much. I think that maybe I have some expectations on this Facebook to be as good as the rest of them. But it felt like the whole book was an epilogue to the series . I often go back and listen to books but this is one I probably won't. But I'm glad I got to listen anyway.

not sure
Revisado: 03-20-16
3/4 of this book was great. then it started turning into a teenage love story. ugh. bought the next one already but having my doubts, not into teen romance. Really 17 year old girl and 150 year old guy? if kricket was really of same race, at least make her an adult. She heart throbs like a 13 year old.

Historia
Picking up from A Discovery of Witches' cliff-hanger ending, Shadow of Night takes reluctant witch Diana Bishop and vampire geneticist Matthew Clairmont on a trip through time to Elizabethan London, where they are plunged into a world of spies, magic, and a coterie of Matthew's old friends, the School of Night. As the search for Ashmole 782—the lost and enchanted manuscript whose mystery first pulled Diana and Matthew into one another's orbit—deepens and Diana seeks out a witch to tutor her in magic, the net of Matthew's past tightens around them.

Historia
1870. A time known as The Great Killing. The vampire clans arose and slaughtered humanity with unprecedented carnage in the northern parts of the world. Millions perished; millions were turned into herd animals. The great industrialized civilizations of the world were left in ruin. A remnant fled south to the safety of the ever present heat which was intolerable to vampires. There, blending with the local peoples, they rebuilt their societies founded on human ingenuity, steam and iron.

interesting
Revisado: 07-25-15
I had a hard time with listening to some parts off this book. The brass American was very offensive and being an American, perhaps It offended me A bit. I could have done with less blood and guts to more story line that was not romance based. Mr. Marsters did an amazing job of narration. Not sure I'll buy the next book.

Harry Dresden, Chicago's only practicing professional wizard, should be happy that business is pretty good for a change. But he also knows that whenever things are going good, the only way left for them to go is bad. Way bad. Recent examples: A duel with the lethal champion of the Red Court, who must kill Harry to end the war between vampires and wizards...Hit men using Harry for target practice...The missing Shroud of Turin - and the possible involvement of Chicago's most feared mob boss.
