Historia
Harry Stillman cares nothing for his future and spends his time at gaming tables, horse races, and in the company of whatever beautiful woman has caught his eye that week. He has little use for society or his uncle’s approval - until his debts begin exceeding his profits. When Uncle Elliott refuses to pay off the debt and instead offers him a large, monetary wedding gift if Harry were to marry a woman of his uncle’s approval, Harry is offended, angry, and - scared.

The story had potential and then ranting lectures began, and then the redemption nonsence.

A good writer who has decided to write an old traditional sermon. Interesting characters and a unique plot which succumbed to pretentious and very predictable outcomes.

AI STORY? Vitual Reading. Terrible.

The story may have held my interest a little more if it had been read by an actual human being. But overall the wooden voice killed the plot. if this is what audible are planning for the future we won't be staying customers.

Interesting plot. unusual characters
Revisado: 04-28-24
Very well narrated, genuine skill with accents.
Believable characters with depth and interest.
The plot was engaging until the author decided to insert her usual religious messages, which feel forced and not really in line with the attributes of each character; it did not contribute to the story and in fact undermined their strong survival characteristics.

The plot kept me going. it was unusual.
Revisado: 03-09-24
Overall I finished the story so thats a plus. but the narrator seems to shout Scottish accents which got tiring. Otherwise her ability wih accents is excellent. the story became very preachy and religious. the synopsis needs to classify this as religious fiction. towards the end the main characters became symbols of good and evil and appeared to lose touch with normal human reactions.

well written, strong characters, good pace, enjoyable. the narrator brings the writing to life, but as many have said the voice is almost always a husky harsh whisper which can be irritating. I will probably not pay ti listen to him again.

bizarre plot with amusing and unlikely twists. beauty and the beast where they both grow up, a bit. the silly rich girl remains so but the mature lothario finds love, for a while anyhow. she definitely has mental health issues.

ok Plot. odd narrator
Revisado: 01-11-24
This story, set in England was reasonably involving and i listened with mild interest. the Writer is American however and has made some jarring errors. more research is required and modern phrasing and American vocabulary choices need to be edited out. the word gotten is particularly awful.
as for the narratr, its all been said. this voice is stilted and lacks rhythm. not a natural story tell(er.
