Historia
From Annie Moore, the Irishwoman who was the first to be processed there, to Arne Peterssen, the Norwegian who was the last to be taken away from the island in 1954, Ellis Island weaves together the personal experiences of forgotten individuals with those who live on in history: Fiorello La Guardia, Lee Iacocca, and other American leaders whose paths led them to the island for various reasons.

I liked the very complete history, which told me much more than when I visited the island last year. Now I want to go back again!

Very calming
Revisado: 09-15-23
Deepak Chopra has such a calm and soothing voice that I feel relaxed no matter what he is saying. He presents a lot of things to think about and interesting guests. I’ve listened to this several times. It’s great for relaxation at bedtime.

I was glued to this book.

Thank you Mary Trump! It must have been traumatic writing this difficult story about your family. The world needs to hear this because no one has seen a person like Donald before. I hope that his current enablers will be held accountable in the years to come.

Historia
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s account of the first successful large-scale application of nonviolent resistance in America is comprehensive, revelatory, and intimate. King described his book as "the chronicle of 50,000 Negroes who took to heart the principles of nonviolence, who learned to fight for their rights with the weapon of love, and who, in the process, acquired a new estimate of their own human worth."

In listening to this recording I felt like I was listening to Martin himself. His wisdom is so relevant today.
