A separation between Southern and northern states is explored as climate change divides the nation between oil loyal versus solar powered states.

Great concept can see a series if handled well. Went very large but it could be done. Hint. Hint!

Fills a much needed gap in the story of Merlin the great! I love this series; fantastic recreation of an historic character. Must read.

I invite the author to do Trump under plague. With or without FEMA. Maybe the narrator’s character performances coupled with a change in setting, lent a stale atmosphere to this particular book of the authors’s oeuvre, but I much preferred all of the others. However, they were not set in the US and mostly had a British narrator. Things that were overlooked because content were great were cringey set in the US. Bit dated, so in addition contemporary sensibilities are jarred by the narrator and content.

As if written by a 15 yr old boy using every gross trope from nubile wenches to slavery, lascivious descriptions of high born women and stereotypical dudes to match, this book can’t rid itself of cliches. Wild west, antebellum, epochal, roman and world of warcraft sensibilities are all smashed into a poorly formed world view, one narrated (in the novel) by a boy jerking off to his clever diversity and thoughtful characters. Pfft. Nope.

Richard Poe’s narratorial skills pulls The Crossing out of the page and into the light so we can see this epic odyssey: a journey of brothers and brotherhood in a relentless unforgiving land of mysterious ways and gritty lives. McCarthy lays out with blunt philosophical insight what it is to be thrown into chaos, and how it must be borne without pity or sentiment. Brilliant and heartbreaking.

Brilliant, engrossing, astounding, daring, and compelling, Absolutely so, and in fact, there are not enough adjectives to underline more usefully the above sentiments. So now that I have complied with the word count required to review appropriately this book, I’ll reiterate, brilliant!

Most of this book is a fantastic warrior’s escapade, advancing from small town hustler to great leader. But it was only the last quarter (and select parts otherwise) that the author really distills the drama into a mighty tale. There may be more, I hope so. It sets up a magnificent dynasty building epic. The characters are there, they’re capable. It needs to happen. Narrator was fantastic.

I have read (almost) all of Margaret Atwood’s fiction, so when I found ‘On Writers and Writing’, I was very excited. I had some expectation of what would happen when I listened. I was wrong. This is a lecture series read by Margaret Atwood. There is a live interview at the end. Each section delves into writing and writers from different perspectives, which is fantastic! Since I came to the text with expectations that were not met I was initially confused and kept expecting something else. When I realized what I was listening to, and that I was an idiot, I started from the beginning again. Thank god. Because this is, as I say, brilliant. Listen, listen properly, stop messing around and dreaming. Wake up and listen to Margaret Atwood because she knows what she’s talking about.

An iconoclastic series of the science fiction genre. An essential addition to your library. Do it! Really. Do. It.
