Historia
When an experiment to study quantum uncertainty goes spectacularly wrong, physics student Bill Rustad and his friends find that they have accidentally created an inter-dimensional portal. They connect to Outland - an alternate Earth with identical geology, but where humans never evolved. The group races to establish control of the portal before the government, the military, or evildoers can take it away. Then everything changes when the Yellowstone supervolcano erupts in an explosion large enough to destroy civilization and kill half the planet.

Was and entertaining sci-fi book with just enough
Revisado: 02-06-21
had enough of the reality with proper geography and potential considerations of what could happen to make it a good read, would like to see a continuation of the saga as they are still in Outland and how families can start and the next generation and aging process begins.

Historia
In a narrative as beguiling and mysterious as memory itself - shadowed and luminous at once - we follow the story of 14-year-old Nathaniel, and his older sister, Rachel. In 1945, just after World War II, they stay behind in London when their parents move to Singapore, leaving them in the care of a mysterious figure named The Moth. They suspect he might be a criminal, and they grow both more convinced and less concerned as they come to know his eccentric crew of friends: men and women joined by a shared history of unspecified service during the war.

especially good reader, stories by child are always interesting with so many twists and turns, the flow is always clean and keeps the mind wondering what's next and guessing the end.

Historia
Ken Follett's World Without End was a global phenomenon, a work of grand historical sweep beloved by millions of readers and acclaimed by critics. Fall of Giants is his magnificent new historical epic. The first novel in The Century Trilogy, it follows the fates of five interrelated families - American, German, Russian, English, and Welsh - as they move through the world-shaking dramas of the First World War, the Russian Revolution, and the struggle for women's suffrage.

Follet Continues his Mastery
Revisado: 08-30-14
Where does Fall of Giants rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Ken Follet has become one of my favorite authors from his early books to this trilogy that will keep you interested from first words until the last epilogue. Each book can stand alone, but makes you want more and follow the whole life of the family.
Have you listened to any of John Lee’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Next book in the trilogy is great too.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The realism of the history.

Another Follet Masterpiece
Revisado: 11-14-12
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Can't say enough about the way Follet makes world war ii come alive through the eyes of people of all the main countries. While battling their own personal challenges they battle each other from other countries. Puts a very personalized view on the events of the war and the actions that made some people despicable, some countries terrible and yet humanized others to show their compassion.
