I loved reading this book but the audio just brought everything to life so well! This is the second book in a series that must be read or listened to in ordered.

I loved this book from the first time I read it it but to hear it done so well in voice was such a treat! This book has the author’s characteristic humor and fun plots but also amazing world-building. I s startled at first by the voice of Garen but I very much enjoyed the unique qualities of that voice which fit the character well!

What a fascinating story! I love reading or listening to books/stories that have a differing POV, especially from the LGBTQ+ community. In this very short listen, there is great character development and the relationships between all the characters are well written. If I have any criticism, it is that I want to know what ends up happening beyond the end, there needs to be more written, added, I want these characters to continue living onward!!

One of my Favorites of the Series

This is a M/F paranormal suspense modern romance in an audio format. I love Mystic Bayou, and the characters are very well fleshed out. My favorite part is that the narrators give each person a distinct voice that remains consistent across the series, and those nuisances make all the difference!

This is a m/f paranormal modern romance; it is part of a series and should be listened to in order! First off, I love the ranges of these too narrators, very well done and the voices are consistent for each character across all the books (for reoccurring characters). There is a lot of thought in making those voices which adds a richness to each person and you can literally tell who is speaking without reading “so and so said.” I have simply fallen in love with mystic Bayou, their stories and the suspense that binds them all together! In this story, you encounter a psychic “touch-know” and a banshee; their story is sincerely lovely whilst danger swirls all around Mystic Bayou. This is well worth the listen!

What a fantastic book! The narrators have really done an excellent job staying consistent with the voices for reoccurring characters. I was fascinated by the mythology woven around the tree nymph, her history and her hope of finding a place in Mystic Bayou!

Where does Crispens Point rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I would rank it highly. It is a book I would re-listen to.

What did you like best about this story?

I felt like the story took place in a culture that I understand. It is not the super-charged naughty romance stories that seem to be popular. This is the sort of story that could have happened to someone I know. On another note, its also the sort of story I could play for our whole family to listen to without feeling like it was silly like so many Christian romance stories seem to be these days.

Did Crystal Sershen do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

I was not as impressed with this narrator as I was with the person who read for the second book. This reader was slightly sing-songy at times. However, as I thought about it by giving each book a different narrator perhaps the thought was to give each book its own voice.

If you could take any character from Crispens Point out to dinner, who would it be and why?

Charlotte. I feel that she and I could have been friends if I knew her in real life.

Any additional comments?

I listened to the 2nd book before listening to this, the first book in a series. First off, I can say that though they have characters in common, I think they each stand alone rather well. From the very beginning of the book, I liked and understood the Character of Charlotte. I also liked the secondary characters, I thought they were written with real flaws and brought humor without being ridiculous in their descriptions, words and/or actions. Thinking back to myself as a single woman (almost 10 years ago) in a Christian environment, I remember the struggle in my attraction to a Young man. In such a culture, you feel as though everyone is not only watching you, but judging you as well. The way the Author wrote of this struggle felt very real to me. I think that perhaps if you do not live in a Christian culture you might not understand that bit in the book. I have to say that I would recommend not only this book, but this author has very much pleased me. I definitely believe that this book has the quality in it that would have me re-reading or in this case re-listening to it all over again!

Would you consider the audio edition of Cherry Cobbler to be better than the print version?

I ran the gamete of emotions on listening to this audio-book. There was a great deal of laughter, amusement and misty-eyed moments on my part which led me to thoroughly enjoy this book. I especially like the Audio format as it allowed me to listen while I worked on some chores around the house as well as a bit of sewing work I had on my desk to do! I also really liked how the reader chose different voices for each of the characters. I am a big Kindle reader though I am moving towards Audio format as it works better for my busy life right now!

What other book might you compare Cherry Cobbler to and why?

The Weddings by Bella Series by Janice Thompson. I thought it had the humor of this series but with more Spiritual depth. They are both from the girl's point of view.

Have you listened to any of Rachael West’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have not listened to her other performances, but I certainly liked her performance on this one, I might even seek out other books voiced by her.

Any additional comments?

Cherry is going through the awkwardness of finding a partner in life and ministry. I liked Cherry, the character is not only believable, but I felt a lot like her when I was about 23/24. Most of my friends had married young (18-21) and were popping up babies all around me. Cherry is rather likable, though there were times I wanted to shake her a little bit, those aspects of her nature were not at all far fetch either. In fact the world that Ms. Reardon creates seems like a place I have been before. I felt that in particular, the author did a very good job fleshing out the male characters which is not always the case for Christian Fiction I am sad to say.
