Historia
Earth seceded from its suzerains' state and declared independence. Naturally, such a bold move did not go unnoticed by its powerful neighbors in space, who had aggressive plans for the inhabitable yet overly self-reliant planet. With black clouds gathering and the term of safety growing ever shorter, positive lines of the probable future for Earth's humanity and its allies were nowhere to be seen despite all Gnat the Devourer's efforts and unique abilities.

As for the First Great Lady I seen that one coming from since they bleached her spots. though I will say this even though, I saw it coming I still loved the premise

I'm upset...
Revisado: 11-11-24
the book is never long enough. the story is great and Luke Daniel's does a great job narrating. I feel in love with the story looking for something else. If you've wanted to find something that forces the MC to work hard while being able to do almost everything possible and leveling just about every aspect of life. This is your kind of story.

Historia
Arthur lives with his father, a fallen but proud former noble, in Border Village #49, along with the other good folks condemned to toil in service to the Baron. But Arthur has an edge: a stolen heart card that secretly fell into his possession, thanks to a dragon. It’s a priceless source of power for the Baron and the tyrant will kill to get it back. Invaluable, too, to a young man of spellcasting ambitions.

i loved the story and Luke Daniel's brings his own amazing twist to the narration. his blooper reels are pretty funny as well. listening all the to the end through the bloopers is worth it.

Historia
The end of the world had arrived just as many had predicted, in a global exchange of nuclear weapons. What no one predicted was the sudden message that appeared before every living soul moments before impact, a message from "The Administrators" revealing our entire world and everything in it to be a species simulation. According to the message, humanity had been reset over a million times and every single time we could not prevent our own extinction. No more resets for humanity. No more chances.

so much could have been done differently
Revisado: 11-09-24
This story had the potential to become so much more. the time elaspe from the start of their rebuild to getting the truck up and running. completely unnecessary. there was an immense amount of story capable of being told within that time frame. running straight into the Ravens like that. A Marine who happens to be very cautious about his perks. he doesn't take or look into skills and almost absolutely no time spent in the overall store. you made him out to be a terrible Jarhead.
I listened to the book probably several times now, only because I kept falling asleep. I like listening to books before bed unfortunately I tend to fall asleep while they continue to play. My review comes after finally listening to this book fully. Seriously though how can you skip so much potential for character growth and then leave off with a possible new story. Yea I'm glad to see the MC actually dies in a book great for you keeping things in that matter realistic. To many stories the MC is immediately op. Yet and still so much could have been done. I have a feeling the author thinks the same thing.

Historia
One night in 1967, 26-year-old John Donohue - known as Chick - was out with friends, drinking in a New York City bar. The friends gathered there had lost loved ones in Vietnam. Now, they watched as anti-war protesters turned on the troops themselves. One neighborhood patriot came up with an inspired - some would call it insane - idea. Someone should sneak into Vietnam, track down their buddies there, give them messages of support from back home, and share a few laughs over a can of beer. It would be the Greatest Beer Run Ever.

books are always better than the movie.
Revisado: 09-28-24
I watched a review of the movie. thankfully I didn't spend the money to get appletv just to watch it. no it was not the full movie just some highlights and the reviewers reaction to it. once again I find myself loving the book more. Chicky is amazing for what he wanted to do for his friends and neighbors and going on to enrich the lives of even more people through the years. Just amazingly, awesome.
I will say this for those of you who question the truth behind the believability "civilian/CIA" operative. I cannot say for 100% certainty that it actually happened for Chicky as he tells it. Though you can bet your bottom dollar on this. Yes in fact it would be possible for someone to do that during a war or conflict.

racism and bigotry
Revisado: 01-12-24
to start out I would like to say the information about restructuring yourself to build your million/s was great.
Now to the issue i brought up with in my title. Unfortunately, I was meet with remarks like, cisgendered white male. These types of remarks hinder our society in a whole. I was in the mindset to quit this audio within the first 10 to 15 minutes of the reading. there are remarks like this all over the audio. though I decided to give it a chance. I've learned a lot about what I can do and should stop doing. Just because I fall under the label the author has shown to dislike, doesn't mean the information and experience she has learned and grown by wouldn't be able to help someone like myself.
I hope for all of our sakes the author will learn from this review and formulate a new look on such audiences. Just because my skin color is different than yours does not mean I struggle that much less. We all have to deal with some type of societal prejudices, I just hope one day soon we will all stop the hatred. It is completely unnecessary.

Historia
Quentin Coldwater is brilliant but miserable. A senior in high school, he's still secretly preoccupied with a series of fantasy novels he read as a child, set in a magical land called Fillory. Imagine his surprise when he finds himself unexpectedly admitted to a very secret, very exclusive college of magic in upstate New York, where he receives a thorough and rigorous education in the craft of modern sorcery.

love the book not so much the narrator
Revisado: 04-29-22
don't get me wrong the narration is good but pronouncing the h sound in; what, why, where, etc. why does anyone do that. it makes absolutely no sense to me. I'm not mad at him for it it's how he speaks but that's annoying at least to me. even my favorite narrator does it Will Wheaton just not as pronounced as Mark Bramhall.
now to the book if you love listening to the fantastical world of wizardry and witchcraft you'll like these books. it gives a feeling of reality to it.

Historia
Born into “the blessings of liberty in a free State,” Solomon Northup was kidnapped and sold into slavery in the Bayou Boeuf region of Louisiana’s Red River Valley. Twelve Years a Slave is the chronicle of his captivity at the mercy of sadistic plantation owner Edwin Epps, who tested Northup’s tenacity and self-control under the most brutal conditions. Until fate brought a Canadian abolitionist to Epps’s farm, Northup thought he would never draw another free breath.

As history....
Revisado: 03-25-22
As history goes a first hand account and experience is always best. I cannot and shall not accompany the ideology of such horrendous acts upon another. It is unfortunate, disgraceful, and utterly disgusting, the shameful acts one person may endor at the hands of another. I am happy Mr. Northup was eventually saved, though I am frightened that we as human beings had that ability in us. I'm glad I was able to listen to this book thank you Amazon for bringing my attention to it.

It was just a random mutation - one of a billion that happen in viruses every day. But this one was different. It exploded out of Somalia and spread across the oceans before anybody thought to look up from their cell phones to see what was going on. The infected breathed the virus into the air around them, spreading it through the cities faster than anyone thought possible. Hospitals were overwhelmed. Police lines crumbled. Quarantine sites disintegrated. Cities started to collapse.

I love my post-apocalyptic books
Revisado: 03-15-22
I wanted to go off on some random bit of nothingness and make a foul of myself, though I deleted all that. I truly loved the 9 book series. I could picture almost everything some parts I'm glad my mind filtered. Unfortunately a scene on top of the combine.... Yea we'll leave it at that. Honestly I should have known Murphy would be following him, though I never gave it much thought since there was nothing there too suggest it. Well other than Murphy's undying bro-love for Zed and vice verses. Absolutely loved the complexities given to each character when it came to how the virus effected them differently. Oh and yeah, F**k you Mark! Listen to the book and you'll understand.
