bad, sadistic, whiny characters going on and on about the same thing for 15 hours. I just wanted to set ALL of them on fire, protagonists, antagonists, side characters, all of them.
And also, I am personally what the worst corners of the internet call "woke". but even for me, the obsession of this book with gender was a bit much. we get it, its post gender society, stop hitting me over the head with it.

Historia
In 2011, three successful and highly educated women fell head over heels for the brilliant and charming Ethan Schuman. Unbeknownst to the others, each exchanged countless messages with Ethan, staying up late into the evenings to deepen their connections with this fascinating man. His detailed excuses about broken webcams and complicated international calling plans seemed believable, as did last minute trip cancellations. After all, why would he lie? Ethan wasn't after money—he never convinced his marks to shell out thousands of dollars for some imagined crisis.

Bonkers true story
Revisado: 07-10-24
The story is amazing, I am glad I read it. The book itself though, needed serious editing. the first 6 hours of it are repetitive and monotoneous, be warned.

not a murder mystery
Revisado: 01-13-23
3 hours in, its just all the male characters falling in love at first sight and pining for the main character. and the main character is the most perfect unkempt genious who is secretely hot that there ever was, ugh. there was a murder, technically, but no one is in any rush to solve it, using ecology or otherwise.

"A white lady that cant talk to her own husband"
Revisado: 07-21-22
This book is about 14 hours too long and could be solved with a series of post its. The author bothers to describe every single breath the main character takes, which would be more tolerable if the character wasnt the standard "too dumb to live" main protoganist or if the book had actual plot too. By the end, i wished all of them died.

Historia
Defying both civil authorities and the Mormon establishment in Salt Lake City, the renegade leaders of these Taliban-like theocracies are zealots who answer only to God; some 40,000 people still practice polygamy in these communities. At the core of Krakauer’s book are brothers Ron and Dan Lafferty, who insist they received a commandment from God to kill a blameless woman and her baby girl. Beginning with a meticulously researched account of this appalling double murder, Krakauer constructs a bone-chilling narrative of messianic delusion, polygamy, savage violence, and unyielding faith.
