Historia
In this award-winning Audible Studios production, Trevor Noah tells his wild coming-of-age tale during the twilight of apartheid in South Africa. It’s a story that begins with his mother throwing him from a moving van to save him from a potentially fatal dispute with gangsters, then follows the budding comedian’s path to self-discovery through episodes both poignant and comical.

I absolutely love this book and think you will too. I enjoyed it so much and was touched by the final chapter about his mom. I liked Trevor before but now I love him ❤️. I will definitely look for his next tour. Bravo. This was an excellent listen. I’m so happy to have listened to it because the accent, the different African dialects and more. This is truly one of my favs. This book has inspired me to write my own story about my life. This book is so inspiring, brilliantly written and read. Thank you Trevor for sharing pieces of you with me and the world.

How God sees us even in our despair
Revisado: 09-16-24
We all have been hopeless and wanting to give up. I love how this book gives real life examples of despair and connects examples to biblical characters in the Bible. Does God See Me? The answer is yes, even in our despair, we must never lose hope. It is in that hope we find faith and freedom.

Historia
In my book, you will meet a little girl named Viola who ran from her past until she made a life-changing decision to stop running forever. This is my story, from a crumbling apartment in Central Falls, Rhode Island, to the stage in New York City, and beyond. This is the path I took to finding my purpose but also my voice in a world that didn’t always see me.

Riveting, Astonishing, Compelling and Heartfelt ❤️🙏🏾
Revisado: 05-26-22
I didn’t know what to expect with this book. I didn’t know much about Viola Davis but after watching her interview with Oprah on Netflix, I wanted to learn more about this courages woman. I binged watched HTGAWM. I wanted to know more about Viola. What better way to start than to hear her story being told by her and through her lens. Her story was heartbreaking at times. I cried hearing about her struggles of being poor and going to bed hungry. I rejoiced in her small and big victories as a kid and a woman. I won’t give the stories away but these stories that tell the journey of her parents coming from the south to Rhode Island with nothing but still raised children in despair, brokenness and hopeless to eventually coming out to forgiveness, understanding and love. These are the stories folks are ashamed to share but should share so others feel less alone. Sharing one’s grieve should not be seen as taboo but a tale of life happening to us without skipping a beat. You have to find your way to let the pain out and Viola did that with this book. Bravo 👏🏾. Thank you for sharing your story. I’m so proud of little Viola for not giving up and getting you here for the world to see your beauty and your gifts. Shine bright beautiful black girl. You are loved. You are desired. You have left a space for black girls to exist without feeling less then. Thank you.
