Loving Leland comes easy, but keeping him safe doesn’t because there’s someone trailing Leland who might want to hurt him. The problem is that as Lucas strings us along and tales begin to become tangled, it’s hard to tell who is right and who is wrong.

Historia
Growing up, I was taught that getting too close to someone would be my downfall. But I’ve proven that wrong now that I’m happily married to Jackson, the greatest man in the world. The issue is that mayhem always seems to find me (which is definitely not my fault), and this time, it comes in the form of a woman looking for her daughter.

Mayhem that will make you Guffaw
Revisado: 01-10-24
I love this series. The characters are messed up and over the top. The laughs are ridiculous and everything works out in the end. The sweet and the sassy perfectly married to action and mystery. Love it!

In today's world filled with terrible dating apps and split-second hot takes, all Zuri Robinson wants is something real. And between her crap job, her family drama, and feeling like she completely missed out on her twenties, she's pretty much done. Her only bright spot is exchanging letters with a ridiculously charming guy in Italy. Only Alessandro Fabricare has a teeeeeny little secret . . .

Adorable and Empowering
Revisado: 11-11-23
This book is so sweet. It looks at bravery, change, and growth through the eyes of hurt and healing. It is a rom com, but it is also a good look at what is possible if you change your perspective.

Historia
With her new husband George busy on a special mission for the British Museum, Frances has taken on an assignment of her own. The dowager Viscountess Wingate needs someone to sponsor her niece, Kate, for presentation to Queen Victoria. Frances—who understands society’s quirks and constraints as only an outsider can—is the perfect candidate. Kate is charming and intelligent, though perhaps not quite as sheltered as she might first appear. More worrying to Frances is the viscountess’s sudden deterioration.

I love the Countess books. This is no exception. It’s a light read with good twists and turns. Ms. Zimmerman’s performance is perfect. So fun.

Nothing good ever comes from drinking a box of wine alone. So when I decided to entertain my drunken self by setting up some hand-me-down podcasting equipment and reading the steamy parts from romance novels, I never thought anyone would actually listen. The fact that I admitted my huge crush on my sexy next door neighbor made the whole thing even more mortifying. But sometimes life surprises you, and that’s how my podcast, Heidi’s Discount Erotica, was born. Now I, Heidi Larsen, a sweet former kindergarten teacher in Waconia, Minnesota, lead a scandalous double life.

Gruesome & Annoying
Revisado: 05-03-22
I barely made it to the end. Everyone is rude. They have horrible manners. There are some fun bits, but it’s obvious who did it. Even how it happened is self evident. The descriptions are needlessly gross and the main characters are stupid. Don’t waste a credit.

Ponderous
Revisado: 06-17-21
There are far too many characters. It’s political intrigue on too many levels. It had great potential and failed.
I adore the reader. She did an amazing job. She was the only reason I was able to finish the book.

The characters are great. They interplay well and each has a good arc. It’s so ponderous though. You never feel like you’re getting anywhere. I struggled to finish it.

Fun Listen
Revisado: 05-07-19
The story was pretty trite, but still a super fun pace and good timing. The reader did well with the male voices, especially with all of the different accents, but his feminine voice was dreadful. Didn’t detract, but did make some scenes seem silly.
