Historia
In 1839 rumors of extraordinary yet baffling stone ruins buried within the unmapped jungles of Central America reached two of the world's most intrepid travelers. Seized by the reports, American diplomat John Lloyd Stephens and British artist Frederick Catherwood sailed together out of New York Harbor on an expedition into the forbidding rainforests of present-day Honduras, Guatemala, and Mexico. What they found would rewrite the West's understanding of human history.

Highly recommended for all lovers of history and tales of explorers and discoveries. A fascinating story, centering around the lives and experiences of two amazingly intrepid men. Interestingly and thoroughly written by the author, and impressively narrated by Mr. Garcia.

Historia
The morning after the aged Ute shaman receives a perplexing visit from a silent, disheveled matukach "magician," Daisy's neighbor, Nathan McFain, discovers something astonishing buried in the dirt on his foundering Colorado dude ranch: The bones of gargantuan beast from a prehistoric age. It is a find of enormous scientific importance that attracts the attention of a wide variety of individuals.

Disappointing overall

I'm a big fan of Charlie Moon and his irascible Aunt Daisy and have read & enjoyed all the other books in the series, but the library did not have this one, which is why I purchased the audio version. Unfortunately, while there are the expected & enjoyable nuggets of colorful humor, the author gets very long-winded & tedious in telling his story. Worse is the narrator who has an annoying, unpleasant, nails-on-the-blackboard voice and manner of delivery. My advice: Read the book or skip it all together.

The stuff of conspiracy theories makes for great, entertaining stories in movies, books, and television. And there is no shortage of subjects: from who really killed JFK to the truth behind 9/11. And then, there are subjects from alien invasions to the Moon landing was simulated - theories that are truly out of this world, which according to some, is flat. Many of these crazy concepts have jumped off the pages or screens to become so pervasive in our culture that thousands - even millions - subscribe to them as reality.

Very good presentation. Interesting, educational, and thought-provoking. Even more relevant now in 2021 than when this was produced in the early Trump years.

Historia
Harry Potter has never even heard of Hogwarts when the letters start dropping on the doormat at number four, Privet Drive. Addressed in green ink on yellowish parchment with a purple seal, they are swiftly confiscated by his grisly aunt and uncle. Then, on Harry's eleventh birthday, a great beetle-eyed giant of a man called Rubeus Hagrid bursts in with some astonishing news: Harry Potter is a wizard, and he has a place at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. An incredible adventure is about to begin!

So, I'm a critic
Revisado: 10-21-21
The story and performance were okay, but....really? Why would a Native Alaskan (the motel owner) have a deep Southern drawl, as if he were from Georgia? And, have you ever been to a motel where there are stone fireplaces in each guest room on all 3 floors? And why the heck didn't the detective & sheriff look more closely at those footprints outside that were clearly left by the perpetrator? And, not even bother to check if any of the suspects footwear matched or were wet? Kinda stupid, if you ask me!
