Historia
After Tova Sullivan’s husband died, she began working the night shift at the Sowell Bay Aquarium, mopping floors and tidying up. Keeping busy has always helped her cope, which she’s been doing since her eighteen-year-old son, Erik, mysteriously vanished on a boat in Puget Sound over thirty years ago. Tova becomes acquainted with curmudgeonly Marcellus, a giant Pacific octopus living at the aquarium. Marcellus knows more than anyone can imagine but wouldn’t dream of lifting one of his eight arms for his human captors—until he forms a remarkable friendship with Tova.

absolutely loved this story and the audio made it really come alive for me. Just an all around feel good story. And then add an octopus sharing his story makes it all that much better. They truly are remarkable and intelligent creatures.
while not an epic story/book, it's a good read, in this case a very good listen.

Historia
During the Great Depression, labor camps crop up in remote areas throughout the American South. Destitute workers live under terrible conditions. Trapped in these isolated locations, workers are entirely dependent on the often greedy, abusive camp owners who provide food and housing at grossly inflated prices. But for the most desperate among America's vast unemployed, these camps are often the last and only option.

decent read

The book was overall a decent read. started off very promising and was building up to be a good drama. Good strong characters. However, the ending fell flat and a little disappointing.

Historia
On his last combat deployment, Lt. Cmdr. James Reece's entire team was killed in an ambush that also claimed the lives of the aircrew sent in to rescue them. But when those dearest to him are murdered on the day of his homecoming, Reece discovers that this was not an act of war by a foreign enemy but a conspiracy that runs to the highest levels of government. Now, with no family and free from the military's command structure, Reece applies the lessons that he's learned in over a decade of constant warfare toward revenge.

great book. watched it on Prime Video as well. both stories varied some in detail and story line, but overall great book. Didn't care that much for the audible narrator, especially when he was trying to sound like a woman. it is what it is though. Will be reading book #2 soon.

horrible narrator
Revisado: 06-10-22
I started reading the book last night and decided to add Audible to listen throughout the day. NOPE! I would rather listen to nails scratching on a chalkboard. I couldn't get through 2 pages. Narrator is that bad. Ruined the book for me. Can't get her voice out of my head.
