Historia
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

We all know that without water we couldn't survive, and that sometimes a cup of coffee or a glass of wine feels just as vital. But do we really understand how much we rely on liquids, or the destructive power they hold? Set over the course of a flight from London to San Francisco, Liquid Rules offers listeners a fascinating tour of these formless substances, told through the language of molecules, droplets, heartbeats, and ocean waves.

Definitely not for an opinionated adult. Maybe for children. ...But then again, I'd like to think that my children would drop this after the first couple chapters finding it doesn't get any better.

Out of the hundreds of books I've listened to, few have kept me wanting more. Maybe it's just because it's my kind of story but this one kept me wanting more. This one kept me awake! :-)

The number one New York Times best-selling story about American Olympic triumph in Nazi Germany, the inspiration for the PBS documentary The Boys of '36, broadcast to coincide with the 2016 Summer Olympics and the 80th anniversary of the boys' gold medal race. Out of the depths of the Depression comes an irresistible story about beating the odds and finding hope in the most desperate of times - the improbable, intimate account of how nine working-class boys from the American West showed the world at the 1936 Olympics in Berlin what true grit really meant.

As a summary for children, ??????
Revisado: 08-29-16
My school-age son and daughter chose this book from a list for summer reading. I like to know what they're reading so I purchased it through Audible. It is another example of how society and especially the public school school system is molding the minds of our children. In this case, premarital sex. Yes, we all know it happens, but let it be in private. Don't bring it to the attention of our children in a way that subtly condones it. The book had a good storyline without it. I liked the book but disappointed in the end.

Historia
Six days ago, astronaut Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars. Now, he's sure he'll be the first person to die there. After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces his crew to evacuate while thinking him dead, Mark finds himself stranded and completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he's alive - and even if he could get word out, his supplies would be gone long before a rescue could arrive. Chances are, though, he won't have time to starve to death. The damaged machinery, unforgiving environment, or plainold "human error" are much more likely to kill him first.

Listen and listen again
Revisado: 11-29-15
Would you listen to The Martian again? Why?
My headline says it all. It's just a good listen.
Which character – as performed by R. C. Bray – was your favorite?
Each character was "real." Nice job R.C. but I was always pleased by your Venkat Kapoor....of course!
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
A little of both
Any additional comments?
Couldn't wait to listen some more. When I was done, I started another book but I kept realizing I wasn't concentrating on the story. I downloaded The Martian again and listened a second time. It's nice that you always pick up things that didn't stick in your mind the first time. I bet it'll happen again.
