Historia
On a remote, icy planet, the soldier known as Breq is drawing closer to completing her quest. Once, she was the Justice of Toren - a colossal starship with an artificial intelligence linking thousands of soldiers in the service of the Radch, the empire that conquered the galaxy. Now, an act of treachery has ripped it all away, leaving her with one fragile human body, unanswered questions, and a burning desire for vengeance.

So Good!
Revisado: 05-30-23
So good, and so different. Adjoa Andoh's narration is perfect! I honestly don't know if I would have liked the book if I read it for myself.

Historia
When COVID-19 sweeps through New York City, Jamie Gray is stuck as a dead-end driver for food-delivery apps. That is, until Jamie makes a delivery to an old acquaintance, Tom, who works at what he calls “an animal rights organization”. Tom’s team needs a last-minute grunt to handle things on their next field visit. Jamie, eager to do anything, immediately signs on. What Tom doesn't tell Jamie is that the animals his team cares for are not here on Earth. Not our Earth, at at least. In an alternate dimension, dinosaur-like creatures named Kaiju roam a warm and human-free world.

Historia
Felix Castor is a freelance exorcist, and London is his stomping ground. It may seem like a good ghostbuster can charge what he likes and enjoy a hell of a lifestyle, but there's a risk: sooner or later he's going to take on a spirit that's too strong for him. When Castor accepts a seemingly simple ghost-hunting case at a museum in the shadowy heart of London, what should have been a perfectly straightforward exorcism is rapidly turning into the Who Can Kill Castor First Show, with demons and ghosts all keen to claim the big prize.

Inconsistant, Horrible Accents Ruin Everything

I'm not sure if I hated the book, or just the narration.
He is normally ok, but can't do English accents to save his life. it might have been ok otherwise.

Historia
When the young half-goblin emperor Maia sought to learn who had set the bombs that killed his father and half-brothers, he turned to an obscure resident of his father’s Court, a Prelate of Ulis and a Witness for the Dead. Thara Celehar found the truth, though it did him no good to discover it. He lost his place as a retainer of his cousin the former Empress, and made far too many enemies among the many factions vying for power in the new Court. The favor of the Emperor is a dangerous coin.

Great Story with Very Confusing Names

Really entertaining story, but so many of the names are so similar that I have very little idea of which character is doing what at any time.

In Serious Need of Editing!
Revisado: 02-17-21
I appreciate that mental health is very very important, and it is good than Mr Sanderson is making an effort to normalize the conversation. that being said, at least 30hrs of this book felt like being bludgeoned with an early 90's PSA. (That's right kids! Even Radiants feel sad sometimes!) I kept missing actually plot points because I had tuned out. Then I had to go back and listen again. The actual story was good, but it gets lost in repetitive drivel.

Just why do humpback whales sing? That's the question that has marine behavioral biologist Nate Quinn and his crew poking, charting, recording, and photographing very big, wet, gray marine mammals - until the extraordinary day when a whale lifts its tail into the air to display a cryptic message spelled out in foot-high letters: Bite Me.

Who decided to have a guy who pronounces the H in whale, white, and while, narrate a book about whales? I don't like that person. The book is great, but grrrr.

Historia
The metropolis of New Crobuzon sprawls at the center of the world. Humans and mutants and arcane races brood in the gloom beneath its chimneys, where the river is sluggish with unnatural effluent and foundries pound into the night. For a thousand years, the Parliament and its brutal militias have ruled over a vast economy of workers and artists, spies and soldiers, magicians, crooks, and junkies. Now a stranger has arrived, with a pocketful of gold and an impossible demand. And something unthinkable is released.

Too Descriptive
Revisado: 07-30-20
Not for the squeamish.
Fantastic world building.
I didn't know there was such a thing as too much description. I frequently catch myself zoning out. I think it's the first time I've wanted an abridged version of a novel. I have loved much longer books, but this one couldn't hold my attention.

Historia
Plain-spoken, headstrong Ophelia cares little about appearances. Her ability to read the past of objects is unmatched in all of Anima, and, what’s more, she possesses the ability to travel through mirrors, a skill passed down to her from previous generations. Her idyllic life is disrupted, however, when she is promised in marriage to Thorn, a taciturn and influential member of a distant clan. She must leave all she knows behind and follow her fiancé to Citaceleste, the capital of a cold, icy ark known as the Pole, where danger lurks around every corner and nobody can be trusted.
