Historia
This gentle mystery with an historical subplot is a perfect listen for lovers of maritime cozies with a twist. The charming, quiet coastal setting of a quaint village on Lake Ontario makes a perfect backdrop and counterpoint for the shocking murder that occurs early one morning at an historic site, just outside the village of Lighthouse Cove, NY, where slaves escaped to Canada during the abolition movement.

Murder at Freedom Hill was a hard to put down read. Many twists and turns along the way. This is a must read (or listen).

Historia
Retired police chief Edmund DeCleryk finds Emily Bradford's body on the beach below where the local museum and historical society stands. At the same time, a break-in has been reported at the museum, and Emily's coat and purse are found hanging on a peg in the gift shop, where she worked. When the police chief is called out of town for a family emergency, he hires Ed to assist with the murder investigation. After several leads don't pan out, the chief decides to close the case. Confident that with more time the murder can be solved, Ed is determined to continue investigating.

Strong mystery and suspense
Revisado: 05-28-18
I highly recommend this audible because it is read well and grabs your attention from the beginning to the surprising end. Moreover, the plot is based on an unpredictable and intriguing story. The context of the story offers a comfortable familiarity with many real-life locations. The main character is an outstanding detective with a remarkable thinking process for deduction. One will be strongly immersed into the world of suspense and mystery with this story.

Historia
Welcome to the fabled Gold Coast, that stretch on the North Shore of Long Island that once held the greatest concentration of wealth and power in America. Here two men are destined for an explosive collision: John Sutter, Wall Street lawyer, holding fast to a fading aristocratic legacy; and Frank Bellarosa, the Mafia don who seizes his piece of the staid and unprepared Gold Coast like a latter-day barbarian chief and draws Sutter and his regally beautiful wife, Susan, into his violent world.

A great knowledge booster about the Gold Coast

I appreciate learning about the different mentalities and values along the Gold Coast. It also taught about WASP.

Historia
In Overcomplicated, complexity scientist Samuel Arbesman offers a fresh, insightful field guide to living with complex technologies that defy human comprehension. As technology grows more complex, Arbesman argues, its behavior mimics the vagaries of the natural world more than it conforms to a mathematical model. If we are to survive and thrive in this new age, we must abandon our need for governing principles and rules and accept the chaos.

A book that challenges my view of studying and developing complex, interconnected technological systems, through a somewhat original and refreshing erspective.
