Historia
When world-class biblical scholar Bart Ehrman first began to study the texts of the Bible in their original languages he was startled to discover the multitude of mistakes and intentional alterations that had been made by earlier translators. In Misquoting Jesus, Ehrman tells the story behind the mistakes and changes that ancient scribes made to the New Testament and shows the great impact they had upon the Bible we use today.

Outstanding Account of the Origins of the Bible
Revisado: 04-21-15
Dr Ehrman recounts the main source upon which the King James Version was based. Then he goes back to the sources upon which it was based to relate the history of the textual criticism (analysis) of the Bible. From the earliest surviving copies (witnesses), Ehrman does how changes made to the books of the Bible during the 1000+ years before the printing press were both die to human error and deliberate choices. It makes for fascinating reading for anyone who has more than a passing interest in the Bible.

Historia
The famous D-Day landings of 6 June, 1944, marked the beginning of Operation Overlord, the battle for the liberation of Europe. Republished as part of the Pan Military Classics series, Max Hastings’ acclaimed account overturns many traditional legends in this memorable study. Drawing together the eyewitness accounts of survivors from both sides, plus a wealth of previously untapped sources and documents, Overlord provides a brilliant, controversial perspective on the devastating battle.

Only for knowledgable listener
Revisado: 12-19-14
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
I am a big fan of Max Hastings and consider myself very knowledgeable regarding the events of World War II. In retrospect, I must confess that I was not as prepared going into this book as I should have been -- if properly forewarned. Mr Hastings assumes that listener/reader is familiar with the Normandy Campaign. In a very detailed history, he tangentially refers to the development of the campaign only in order to ground his descriptions and analysis of leaders, decisions, and vignettes.

Any additional comments?
Enjoyable for the listener/reader who is already familiar with the campaign and seeks details.

The symbol is lost because no once cares
Revisado: 01-13-14
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
This novel is may be enjoyable for people seeking Freemason-positive fiction,
What could Dan Brown have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
If there were a more compelling motivation for Mal'akh. The goal that he was seeking, for which he had killed, kidnapped, and destroyed, and the "ultimately" threat he brandishes seems so laughably small beans that the whole story felt ridiculous after all the the reveals were made.
Any additional comments?
This book has the "puzzle-but-its-real" Dan Brown trademark. If you want the puzzle, this book is for you. The characters are Dan-Brown-trademark one dimensional. The "spontaneous" conversations that the characters hold are Dan-Brown-trademark multi-paragraph expositions that are crammed with details, well-edited, serve the plot, and not-natural. Compared to Angels and Demons and the Da Vinci Code, the Lost Symbol was a very weak outing.
