I was so excited when Darcy announced out of the blue that we were flying to Kenya for our extended honeymoon. Now that we are here, I suspect he has actually been sent to fulfill another secret mission. I am trying very hard not to pick a fight about it, because after all, we are in paradise! Darcy finally confides that there have been robberies in London and Paris. It seems the thief was a member of the aristocracy and may have fled to Kenya. Since we are staying in the Happy Valley, we are well positioned to hunt for clues and ferret out possible suspects.

Darcy Character has changed

Overall, this narrator was decent, but the character of Darcy changed a lot. From the other narrator, you could sense a smile in his eyes. This Darcy seemed rather depressed and timid. And protagonist is not as likable as she once was. What a difference a narrator can make!

Disappointing

I was disappointed by the new narrator. Talented I’m sure, but the main character was not nearly as likable, or not really likable at all. And the supporting characters didn’t have the same dimension as they did with the previous narrator. Belinda and the former Duchess especially. I’m just not very drawn in. I’ll likely return to reading the series via kindle.

Keeps referencing the 70s??

My main issue with this book is that it keeps referencing the 1960s and 70s. Surely there is more updated information that could be shared. I’m surprised that this was the top rated investing book when I did some research. 🤷♀️
