Sarah tells her life story in a chatty, informal manner. It’s easy to relate to her & feel empathy for her horrid, traumatic childhood experiences of neglect & abuse. This story about a girl who had the courage to cope with such an extreme situation will give hope to all of those young individuals who experience domestic violence & sexual abuse.
The narration truly reflected Sarah’s pent up anger & the abusive father’s brute force, making me feel completely immersed in the story.

This short story has been a great escape from the troubles of this world. I laughed out loud as the response to the Goliath virus had so many parallels with the response to the Covid19 virus.
The narrator’s pleasant voice and performance kept my attention from beginning to end.

As such, it isn’t a biography, but rather partial glimpses of my own recollection of how I came to know of Charan, and why I eventually took initiation from him into the meditational practice of Surat Shabd Yoga. I didn’t write this as a devotional eulogy to my deceased spiritual teacher, but more selfishly as a way for me to write down key moments of my association with him...for over four decades.

The author’s honest approach and tireless research into the history of Radha Soami masters is not only informative, but gives a better overall understanding of this particular spiritual path. David Lane’s intimate encounters with Charan Singh were so similar to others on the same path, yet in his case did not cloud his clear thinking and power of discrimination.
