Historia
When a joint FBI-Seattle Police investigation of an international child pornography ring gets too close to certain powerful people, sex-crimes detective Livia Lone becomes the target of a hit that barely goes awry - a hit that had been offered to John Rain, a retired specialist in "natural causes." Suspecting the FBI itself was behind the attack, Livia reaches out to former Marine sniper Dox. Together, they assemble an ad hoc group to identify and neutralize the threat. There’s Rain. Rain’s estranged lover, Mossad agent and honeytrap specialist Delilah.

Historia
Josie Bianci was killed years ago on a train during a terrorist attack. Gone forever. It’s what her sister, Kit, an ER doctor in Santa Cruz, has always believed. Yet all it takes is a few heart-wrenching seconds to upend Kit’s world. Live coverage of a club fire in Auckland has captured the image of a woman stumbling through the smoke and debris. Her resemblance to Josie is unbelievable. And unmistakable. With it comes a flood of emotions - grief, loss, and anger - that Kit finally has a chance to put to rest: by finding the sister who’s been living a lie.

Disappointing
Revisado: 10-26-19
I tried to keep going with this.one, but the farther I progressed, the worse it got. I felt like the author was getting paid by the adjective count. The rambling on of descriptive details about every single scene was not only distracting to the story but so repetitive that I started to feel like I was being talked down to. I eventually gave up, no longer caring how the story ends.

Historia
Amos Decker witnesses a murder just outside FBI headquarters. A man shoots a woman execution style on a crowded sidewalk, then turns the gun on himself. Even with Decker's extraordinary powers of observation and deduction, the killing is baffling. Decker and his team can find absolutely no connection between the shooter - a family man with a successful consulting business - and his victim, a schoolteacher.

Good story line, weak character development
Revisado: 04-25-18
The story started off well, but I was so distracted by the weak female characters and the inconsistencies that I started to pick things apart.
The women in this book, even though respected women in branches of DIA and FBI, are portrayed as weak and sometimes a bit dense.
I found it ridiculous that high-clearance information was routinely shared with low level, and sometimes civilian characters.
And why does this novel portray Washington DC and an East Coast Seattle? So much rain... I think it rained almost every day! The rain symbolism was too much.
It was a fun read(listen) but I feel like it was just a bit dumbed down.

Historia
Bernadette Fox is notorious. To her Microsoft-guru husband, she's a fearlessly opinionated partner; to fellow private-school mothers in Seattle, she's a disgrace; to design mavens, she's a revolutionary architect, and to 15-year-old Bee, she is a best friend and, simply, Mom.
Then Bernadette disappears. It began when Bee aced her report card and claimed her promised reward: a family trip to Antarctica. But Bernadette's intensifying allergy to Seattle - and people in general - has made her so agoraphobic that a virtual assistant in India now runs her most basic errands.

Good story, irritating narration
Revisado: 02-04-18
How did the narrator detract from the book?
The narrator's voice did not fit the main character, unless the main character was a 60 year old woman from the Bronx. The narrator was also over-the-top with the inflection all over the place. I could not finish this audiobook, it was just too distracting,

Historia
When siblings Dan and Hayley Daley inherit their late grandmother's derelict Victorian farmhouse, it seems like a dream come true. All they have to do is fix the place up and sell it for a tidy profit! Except - as anyone who has renovated an old house knows - things are never that easy. The walls are rapidly crumbling around them, the architect is a certified lunatic, the budget is spiraling...and then there's the disturbingly intelligent cow to worry about.

Good "read", great characters
Revisado: 05-15-16
The story kept me interested, the characters were well developed. I would have given it 4 stars, except I found the descriptions of the minute details of everyday tasks and conversations to be a little tedious and distracting from the actual scenes. I also was disappointed by the quick explanation of Aprils unwillingness to talk. After so much emphasis on the problem, I expected more development as to the cause. That seemed to get resolved as an afterthought.
I did, however enjoy the story, the characters, and the narration.

Historia
Master storyteller and satirist Kurt Vonnegut was one of the most in-demand commencement speakers of his time. For each occasion, Vonnegut’s words were unfailingly unique, insightful, and witty, and they stayed with audience members long after graduation. As edited by Dan Wakefield, this book reads like a narrative in the unique voice that made Vonnegut a hero to readers and listeners of all ages. At times hilarious, razor-sharp, freewheeling, and deeply serious, these reflections are ideal for anyone undergoing what Vonnegut would call their "long-delayed puberty ceremony".

Historia
The story is about a woman named Mamzelle Aurlie who lived a lonely life, though she thought she was happy with the life she had. She had never thought of marrying and had never been in love. She was quite alone in the world, except of her dog, Ponto, and servants, who lived in her cabins and worked her crops. But one day by force of occasion, the four children of her nearest neighbor were thrown into her care, and she began to truly live....

Historia
Luke knows his I´nupiaq name is full of sounds white people can’t say. He knows he’ll have to leave it behind when he and his brothers are sent to boarding school hundreds of miles from their Arctic village. At Sacred Heart School things are different. Instead of family, there are students - Eskimo, Indian, White - who line up on different sides of the cafeteria like there’s some kind of war going on. And instead of comforting words like tutu and maktak, there’s English. Speaking I´nupiaq - or any native language - is forbidden.
