Historia
When detective Raymond Dehane’s covert operation goes awry, it awakens an ancient creature from its slumber deep in the Mariana Trench. Kaiju groupies Devonte Rhodes and Dr. Skylar O’Hara must work with him and the military to find a way to stop its reign of terror. Caught between fascination and horror as they witness the creature’s destructive power, the three work tirelessly to find a means of protecting what they love, even if it means killing this entirely new species.

Terrible narrator
Revisado: 06-01-22
Couldn’t get through the first chapter, terrible narrator. Over affected pronunciation, yet mono tone. Probably could have been an interesting read and a great audiobook if the narrator would’ve found a way to bring it to life. Returned.
But who allows these narration auditions to pass?
Narration on this important parts of an audiobook it could make or break a story.

Historia
Accident or suicide? That's the simple question put to Inspector Michael Green when a derelict stranger falls to his death from an abandoned church tower in a quiet river village at the edge of his jurisdiction. But when the victim turns out be a long-lost son of a local farm family cursed in recent years by tragedy, madness, and death, Green begins to suspect something far more sinister is at work. Probing the family's past, he uncovers a toxic mix of rigid fundamentalism, teenage rebellion, and a family secret so horrific that 20 years later, someone is still desperate to prevent the truth from coming to light.

Narration ruined it
Revisado: 01-24-22
Narration put me to sleep and story was slow moving to boot. Tried 4 times and just couldn’t get through chapter 3.

Disappointing compared to rest of series
Revisado: 06-14-21
I’ve listened to books 1-7 and couldn’t wait for this one to come out, but was disappointed. Thin storyline, hardly any involvement of characters well known from books 1-7 and mostly about the Nash, a dictatorship community which was a side mention in previous novels. There were so many names of community members in the Nash, no background story no context, just names of characters that we’ve never heard of. Characters that we’ve never gotten to know. A thin storyline staple together with unnecessarily specific and drawn out descriptions of kill scenes- such as the very specific description of how a bullet entered, what it did, how it came out, and ultimately how the whole scene looked, with the writer attempting a humorous take and metaphors on the core. After a short while it became redundant and tedious. Too many references to the Peevies getting their penis and balls either cut off or shot off and the gross description of what that looked like. Hardly any scenes with our fan favorites, Mo and Smokes and their crew. It was easy to get lost and become confused with the constant introduction of names of people we never got to know or who were such minor players in the past- Way too many undeveloped characters. I was so looking forward to book 8. The end of the book definitely left it open for a book 9, which I hope is more like the first seven.

Awful narrator
Revisado: 04-24-21
I love Lisa Regans novels and the story itself was good but I couldn’t handle the valley girl sounding narration and poor acting of narrator.
