Historia
In 1804, John Colter set out with Meriwether Lewis and William Clark on the first US expedition to traverse the North American continent. During the 28-month ordeal, Colter served as a hunter and scout, and honed his survival skills on the western frontier. But when the journey was over, Colter stayed behind. He spent two more years trekking alone through dangerous and unfamiliar territory, charting some of the West's most treasured landmarks.

Colter is a legend
Revisado: 05-11-24
If you enjoy the history of mountain men and the fur trade this one’s for you. IMO it’s between Colter and Bridger as the kings of the mountain men. To have the metal to do what they did is incredible. Two of the toughest men to ever walk this world.

Historia
Billy the Kid - a.k.a. Henry McCarty, Henry Antrim, and William Bonney - was a horse thief, cattle rustler, charismatic rogue, and cold-blooded killer. A superb shot, the Kid gunned down four men single-handedly and five others with the help of cronies. Two of his victims were Lincoln County, New Mexico, deputies, killed during the Kid's brazen daylight escape from the courthouse jail on April 28, 1881.

Accurate

I’ve been to Ft.Sumner and seen Billy’s grave. This book captures what New Mexico is and her favorite son. I really enjoyed this take, which to me cut through the sensationalism and was very accurate . I also learned some things i didn’t know. I have always thought Brushy Bill was a fraud and appreciate the breakdown of his interview that proved that fact even more so. Excellent and informative reading.
