Historia
Creative flow has blessed me with 39 novels that have collectively sold over 5 million copies, in sixteen languages, in under eight years, earning me over $10 million and over fifty spots on The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, USA Today, and foreign bestselling lists. All of my dreams came true because I learned to write amazing fiction. I wrote this book for the old me—the girl who had big dreams, but no real idea how to write the books she’d need to make those big dreams come true. I wanted to make it easier for her to get to where I am now by sharing what I learned along the way.

I don’t usually leave reviews that aren’t the best but I feel like should for this only for the purpose of what others will get out of this book. Now, I haven’t listened to all of it. I listened to 6 chapters then skipped to 2 later chapters spread apart, and a main part of what she talks about in all those chapters I listened to, is “creative flow”. That you need to be open to creative flow to be able to write the greatest fiction. Now I do understand, you do need to be open for imagination and listen for ideas and such, but there is so much more to writing than just creative flow.
I’ve read/listened to plenty of books and very few of them I find good and educational in writing such as Sol Stein. I also understand this is a book of “this is what I do” and so you should take what sticks to you, which is what she tells. If you’ve never read a book about how to write, I firmly believe you will learn from this book. I’m just a special case.
Again, I haven’t listened to the entire book, but I am a fan of when examples of great authors are included for areas such as dialogue, prose, etc. so I know how to improve my writing. In the 8 chapters I listened to, there wasn’t any examples from any other authors.
She may be an awesome writer, but I feel like this was a save the cat type of book, not a kill the dog book.

Best Book

A solid book about the truth in anything in life: there is no easy way, no short cut, no cheat to become successful. It takes hard work, dedication, and sacrifice. I have nothing but respect for Paul Guyot for his words of advice for not just screenwriting, but other aspects of life. If you want to learn about screenwriting AND are willing to give it everything you got chasing that vision, this book is perfect for you! Thank you Paul!
