great book. horrible narration

Scott Brick seems to turn exciting stories into pedantic, yet somehow breathless lectures. Not EVERY sentence needs to be overcome in emotion.
edit: I had to return the book. I just can't get past the whiny questioning uplift at the end of every sentence. Listen to the sample. seriously.

this is a great book ruined by a horrible narrator. All the women sound like they are chain smokers. Every man sounds alike. and the "foreign" people sound like they have had their tongues nailed to their teeth. This needs to be redone with a actual cast.

Would you consider the audio edition of The Goldfinch to be better than the print version?
I loved everything about this story. The bomb scene sucked me into a world of grief and self-discovery. I simply could not stop and am sad now that it's over. I miss these characters as if they were my own family members. The narrator deserves kudos for breathing life into these vivid characters. If you buy one book, make it this one!
Who was your favorite character and why?
I loved Boris. His struggle with his conscience is palpable.

This was my first of David Pittu's performances. It will not be my last!
Who was the most memorable character of The Goldfinch and why?
Andy just got to me. The tragedy in his life spoke to my own struggles as a child and adolescent.
