Historia
Dish up the red meat, eggs, and whole milk! In this well-researched and captivating narrative, veteran food writer Nina Teicholz proves how everything we've been told about fat is wrong. For decades, Americans have cut back on red meat and dairy products full of "bad" saturated fats. We obediently complied with nutritional guidelines to eat "heart healthy" fats found in olive oil, fish, and nuts, and followed a Mediterranean diet heavy on fruits, vegetables, and grains. Yet the nation's health has declined. What is going on?

Fat is good, I agree, but…
Revisado: 10-16-24
Shows how lobyists and big oil is looking after their own interests, which makes sense, I would do the same. But at what cost? Since eating almost esclusively animal products and whole fat I am feeling a lot better, have no seasonal allegies and lost more than 50lbs. It is weird having the popular medical science still saying fat is evil, while I am on my own journey and finding out that, at least me specifically, fat is literally a lifesaver.
I was not looking to find more ammunation to use for my own cause, but rather wanted to know why there is such a negative perception on eating animals and animal fat versus eating vegetarian, which is often praised. I tried that too, but incomparible how much better I look and feel now.
But… figure this out yourself, it seems that everyone is pushing their own agenda when it comes to big oil wanting to preserve profits or big meat wanting to make their own profits. Again I would probably do the same, but not at the cost of an entire nation’s health…or maybe I would if I was so easily swayed. Damit maybe I am already swayed by big meat!
Tell you what I will just go back to eating the way my great grandparents did before all these big profiteers: milk, meat, tripe, sheeps head, and for a salad they had lamb.

Historia
Best-selling author Chris Mooney uses cutting-edge research to explain the psychology behind why today’s Republicans reject reality - it’s just part of who they are. From climate change to evolution, the rejection of mainstream science among Republicans is growing, as is the denial of expert consensus on the economy, American history, foreign policy, and much more. Why won’t Republicans accept things that most experts agree on? Why are they constantly fighting against the facts?

The title did raise my hackles, but then…
Revisado: 12-08-21
Being a conservative myself both my interest was peaked and hackles raised when I saw this title. So instead of ranting about the book title, I instead read the whole book.
So our brains are different and we value different things and if you stick around to the end you will learn a great deal about the mindset of Republicans and also of liberals.
The studies and examples quoted are digestible and easy to understand. Just note that the book is dated for the political climate we are in now in 2021, but the core information is still interesting.
Thanks Chris and I look forward to an update title along these lines.

So how do you navigate this new landscape and come out on top? Adam Grant, Wharton organizational psychologist, went to the World Economic Forum in Davos, the epicenter of power, and sat down with thought leaders from around the world, to find out.

EPIC. I have to agree with "Brutal and Dark".
Revisado: 07-04-18
I have, like so many avid fans, obtained a copy of Predators after a much anticipated wait. There were constant updates about how the book is almost done, and then how Nick Podehl is almost finished with recording and how it will be here soon. But inside me there was a little voice that said "Maybe this is just going to be another Chaos Seed book with a quick and exciting story, ending too soon on an amazing cliffhanger". Oh, how wrong that little voice was!
This was by far the most satisfying book of the series! An EPIC book.
It is more brutal than the other books, but not in the tacky Hollywood style of just-slap-on-some-more-gore. It was truly harder on my emotions and quite often the jovial undertone is replaced with deep concern and empathy before going back to joviality. And often this undertone takes a much darker turn than expected.
The complexity of the world is also increasing and I have to admit that Aleron is a genius with the way he paints the LitRPG world. I love it!
The reason why I would say this book is Epic, is that Aleron really made me feel so much more than any of the other books in the series. Do not get me wrong, the other books are great and funny with heart-pounding action, but this... this is something special to me and it has brought me great satisfaction to read.
Aleron, thank you so much for this book. And Nick, also. Your voice makes this book complete.

Historia
What began in the wasteland of Dead Mech, and continued alongside Europe and Asia in the Americans, now has its epic conclusion in Metal and Ash. Commander James Capreze and his team of mech pilots must no longer battle just zombies, cannibals, religious cults, and the ever dreaded dead mechs. Now, they will be put to the test by the forces of the Three, as the evil alliance bent on dominating every inch of the world attacks from two fronts, forcing Capreze to split his forces and make alliances with those he had been sworn to defeat.

Wow again!
Revisado: 06-18-16
What did you love best about Metal and Ash?
I must say the pace of the book is great and the suspense was fantastic.
Who was your favorite character and why?
That Mr Stone, he is one tough guy. I love the way he just does his thing no matter anyone else's needs.
Have you listened to any of Julie Hoverson’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I have listened to the other Apex series books and this one is just as fantastic! She is really talented and brings this book to life.
If you could rename Metal and Ash, what would you call it?
Chrome and Guts, since it is the two items I saw most vividly in my mind's eye.
Any additional comments?
Jake Bible is really fun to listen to and the pace of this book really kept me on the edge. The story is also well rounded and does not leave a lot of unanswered questions at the end, which I appreciate. And the characters are just so diverse and well written for the book. I enjoy fast paced action with a funny undertone and an element of weirdness and this book delivers. Thanks Jake.

Z level up!
Revisado: 05-08-16
I find it hard to comprehend a better Z story than Zburbia, but Jake steps up the pace significantly in this book. The pace is quick, the action is dialed up form the previous books ( I don't know how he did it, but he did) and I was on the edge of my seat from the start.
I would suggest this book to anyone who enjoys a great Zombie story and appreciates fast pace action.
If you don read this there will be a signifiant lack in your Z-education!

Historia
The Bloody Conflict is long over. The lands are now controlled by despots, crooked cattle barons, energy hoarders, and anyone with enough might to keep the local folks under control. For Clay Macaulay, none of that matters as he roams the land in a war machine from a time gone by. He wants nothing to do with small desert towns or brutal dictators. He only has his sights set on a new life. Unfortunately for Clay, too many ruthless people want what he has. They want the war machine he pilots. They want the battle mech that shouldn't exist anymore.
