Basic RBT Study Guide
Revisado: 09-11-24
This book would be great if I were studying for the RBT exam. The example questions were similar to the examples written in the book, so they didn't help. I do not feel this book prepared me for the BCBA exam.

So it goes for Tolly Driver, a good kid with more potential than application, seventeen, and about to be cursed to kill for revenge. Here Stephen Graham Jones explores the Texas he grew up in, and shared sense of unfairness of being on the outside through the slasher horror Jones loves, but from the perspective of the killer, Tolly, writing his own autobiography. Find yourself rooting for a killer in this summer teen movie of a novel gone full blood-curdling tragic.

Heartwarming Slasher
Revisado: 09-11-24
The story went by quickly, but it was really good. I enjoyed the POV of the slasher narrator and the ending was great.

Wow
Revisado: 01-09-23
I have listened to many Bentley Little, and this is true horror. This is not supernatural. It should be cautioned that this does use a word that is no longer acceptable. This book was written long before that, though. That is something to keep in mind.

Historia
Bob Jones is ordinary, from his appearance right down to his very name. No one seems to take notice of him, not his co-workers, his girlfriend, or even his own parents. But Bob learns he's not alone when he's taken in by a band of people that suffer similarly. Calling themselves "The Ignored", the deadly vengeance they intend to wreak is sure to make them more than just memorable....

Least Favorite BL
Revisado: 12-28-22
I struggled hard to finish this one. It dragged on for so long and never climaxed in a satisfying way. I love BL, and knew someday I would find one I did not like as much. It was this one. The story started out slow. It was weird the way it progressed. It had boring characters. Ironically, the book is called The Ignored about a bunch of people that are so ordinary people don't pay attention to them.

Whoa, what?
Revisado: 12-17-22
This went really crazy fast. The story was slow, but I know from other Bentely Little books that things will get nuts. This is the first book of his I've listened to where I thought it was pretty gory. That's with any book I've read or listened to.
I liked it, but wow...very reminiscent of Needful Things, but in a totally different way.
This not for the faint of heart. Trigger alert.

Historia
Opulent doesn't begin to describe the Arizona getaway where Lowell Thurman, his wife Rachel, and their three young sons have come for one glorious week. Everything at The Reata is perfect - although Rachel is a bit unnerved by the openly lustful gaze of one of the gardeners, something she doesn't mention to Lowell. Nor does he tell her about the frightening sensation he has in the pool of hands clutching at him, trying to pull him under.

What Just Happened?
Revisado: 09-02-22
So good. Bizarre. Impossible to guess how it ends, I don't care who you are. Spooky images. What the heck images. Why? It has an ending that fits the whole story. If I dare say, from a huge King fan, I like this writer better.

Disappointed
Revisado: 01-15-22
This one was weird. The story lagged. It seemed to go on and on with no pick up. The last few hours of a King book are when things get fast-paced. The same was for this. Unfortunately, the story was so mismatched and boring that it didn't fit the end at all. Oddly enough, I really enjoyed the end. It's usually the other way around for me. The story itself is good. The execution was not, for me. The narrator was great, and I think that is what helped me get through it.
I'm a fan of King's books through the beginning through present. I don't think some were scarier than others based on their inception. This one was on my list for a long time, and I'm wishing I had stuck with From a Buick 8 to finally tap into.
Regardless, it would have been an amazing novella.

Good, But Not The Same
Revisado: 12-02-21
I expected the stiry to be different and much longer than the movie, but this was 2ish hours to listen to, and the movie is 2ish hours itself.
I'm kind of disappointed and feel like I didn't even hear a story because the movie is almost the book. Some details were changed for the better in the movie. I like those changes best. However, judging by how big the book looks in person, I was prepared for so much more.
The narrator is good and makes it pleasant to listen to, but the book story is lacking. If I had listened to the book first, I don't know if I would have even watched the movie.
