Terrible narration / good book
Revisado: 01-28-22
This was a terrific book - fascinating and inspiring stories of these dynamic and fearless women.
The narration though is just awful - spoiled by the British narrator’s
bizarre version ofAmerican accents. The atrocious accent was made much worse by the weird and grating tone of voice and manner of speaking which she shifted to when trying to sound American.
This narrator should NEVER again do a reading which requires an American accent.

Yet after she marries, her husband insists the family emigrate to America - and loses her piano in the process. In 2012, in Bakersfield, California, 26-year-old Clara Lundy is burdened by the last gift her father gave her before he and her mother died in a terrible house fire: a Blüthner upright she has never learned to play. In sudden frustration, she decides to sell it.

Didnt like narration
Revisado: 04-08-19
The narrator has an odd accent and sort of breathy and mournful way of reading
the book itself was good - interesting and creative

Historia
In The Power, the world is a recognizable place: There's a rich Nigerian boy who lounges around the family pool; a foster kid whose religious parents hide their true nature; an ambitious American politician; a tough London girl from a tricky family. But then a vital new force takes root and flourishes, causing their lives to converge with devastating effect. Teenage girls now have immense physical power: They can cause agonizing pain and even death. And, with this small twist of nature, the world drastically resets.

Good book but This reader was awful
Revisado: 01-23-18
The book itself was enjoyable — original and thought provoking. But I have listened to many audio books and this reader was awful. When she stuck to her own voice she was good but the accents especially the American accents were beyond terrible and the different voices she tried for the characters were grating. Similar for the Eastern European voices. I would not buy another novel with this reader. She would be good for readings that don’t require non British accents. This is the first time I have given a bad review to a reader.
