Historia
Drawing on their own cross cultural experience in global mission, O'Brien and Richards show how better self-awareness and understanding of cultural differences in language, time, and social mores allow us to see the Bible in fresh and unexpected ways. Getting beyond our own cultural assumptions is increasingly important for being Christians in our interconnected and globalized world. Learn to read Scripture as a member of the global body of Christ.

Historia
Here is the kind of authentically detailed epic novel that has become Louis L’Amour’s hallmark. It is the compelling story of US Air Force major Joe Mack, a man born out of time. When his experimental aircraft is forced down in Russia and he escapes a Soviet prison camp, he must call upon the ancient skills of his Indian forebears to survive the vast Siberian wilderness.

deception as reality
Revisado: 02-03-21
He lies about the Crusades. Conveniently leaves out that the minute Mohammed died Islam started its crusade, apparently because that was the last command from Mohammad. If you cannot be open and honest about a simple thing like that, I don't trust anything in this book.
He tells me ETs are all over our planet, They're far more advanced than we are, They're trying to tell us were gonna have a Nuclear war, It will be harmful to them eze well yet there powerless to stop the corruption on our planet.
This guy should write a few movies

This is the enthralling account of a Christian's epic journey. With a burden on his back, Christian reads a book that tells him that the city in which he and his family dwell will be set ablaze. Christian flees from the City of Destruction and journeys through the Slough of Despond, the Interpreter's House, the House Beautiful, the Valley of Humiliation, the Valley of the Shadow of Death, Vanity Fair, Doubting Castle, and the Delectable Mountains, and finally reaches the Celestial City.

Fantastic story, amazing narrative
Revisado: 01-30-21
I was very pleasantly surprised by this book, it is a truly great story. If a person is able to get past their prejudices against Christianity they'd love this glimpse into the mindset of 1600s western culture. I heard hints of ancient Greek mythology, and Biblical theology. The Greek ideal of challenging yourself to be the best you can possibly be, plus their lack of mercy for the obviously vile individuals while the Christian ideal of Mercy for the believers who stumble.
Real villains, monsters and demons mix it up with Greek like Heros with King Arthur and the Round Table Chivalry.
I think Christians will have a big struggle with this book as well, the idea of a magical prayer transporting one to Christ is quiet foreign in this story. Faith is as dead as a door nail here without much labor and trials. One's salvation is never assured until one enters through the Pearly Gates.
No wonder John Bunyan got jail by Christian authorities
I loved this story

Historia
While researching the toxic and addictive properties of sugar for Fat Chance, Robert Lustig made an alarming discovery - our pursuit of happiness is being subverted by a culture of addiction and depression from which we may never recover. Dopamine is the "reward" neurotransmitter that tells our brains we want more; yet every substance or behavior that releases dopamine in the extreme leads to addiction. Serotonin is the "contentment" neurotransmitter that tells our brains we don't need any more; yet its deficiency leads to depression.
