I've downloaded and re-download this story 3 times now and I have never made it past the third chapter. Its truly abominable. I couldn't care less about the characters or their plight. The protagonist is ludicrously annoying. The parts I thought might be interesting were time skipped over.

I would not recommend this book to anybody, unless you are looking for white noise to fall asleep to.

An empty story with glaring continuity errors

As a "Journey to xxx" title, I was expecting more. The story was super generic and the characters all felt 1 dimensional. The story also had a hard time keeping Rose's established canon right which was a lil frustrating.

Performance wise though, the narrator did awesome. It sounded like she was having fun which really helped her get into character.

Overall, this isn't really a great story. Random adventure that doesn't add much.

Super mushy romance that happens to be set in SW

Now I'm a sucker for a good romance story, but this one was rather juvenile. Clearly not meant for my age demographic. Beyond the romance though, the story was solid. Fun adventure on Batuu. Sometimes I got a little lost as to what was going on, but I never got bored listening to the story.

The performance is what really helps this book out. Beyond the narrator being great at what she does, they actual used *new* music not from the original saga. As much as I love the soundtrack of Episodes 1-6 of Star Wars, hearing the same music in every Star Wars novel was starting to get stale.

Overall, an okay story with a good performance.

What Star Wars books should strive to be

This is definitely one of my new favorites in the new Star Wars canon. It follows the story of two minor characters in the Star Wars universe who were first introduced in the Phasma novel. What really drew me into this book was the interactions and chemistry of the two characters. It was well done and kept me interested. I was at first worried this book would solely be a shameless plug for the Disney theme park, but I throughly enjoyed the story told.

January LaVoy once again delivers with her narration, making it fun and exciting throughout.

Overall, loved it. Would love to hear more stories involving these characters.

All story filler - not my cup of tea

This novel was less a single story but more a compilation of short stories. Some were absolutely ridiculous, some were okay. This book wasn't really my cup of tea, but I can see its potential appeal to others.

MUST read - Star Wars needs more books like this!

Wow this story was really well done. It had depth and introduced new characters who were very well written. But what really shines about this book is how it greatly helps the overall Star Wars lore. It answers soooo many questions the films had left me with. This book definitely ranks in my top 3 Star Wars canon books. 2 of those 3 were written by Claudia Gray, so it goes to show she is such an awesome writer.

As always, January LaVoy did all characters justice and made the book that much more fun to listen too.

Overall; this novel is a must read for Star Wars fans.

Its okay I guess

This took me a hot minute to get through. The beginning was a little slow and a little jarring with all the jumping around between characters. The middle was great once I understood who was who, though I was more interested in the plight of the supporting characters than I was the main character. Quell felt pretty lack luster, but she was saved by the supporting characters stories. The end of the novel was pretty meh. Cool battle, but it was hard to tell what was going on sometimes. And the sequel setup at the end I didn't particularly care for. There are other novels I feel deserve a sequel more than this one.

Saskia Maarleveld is always amazing at what she does as a narrator. She put life into all characters and helped enrich the overall story.

Bottom line: Not really an essential story that enriches the overall Star Wars saga, but if you like Rebel fighter squadrons its a cool read I guess.

Thrawn is back and better than ever

I was very pleasantly surprised by this turn in Thrawn's story. I wasn't all that wowed with the second installement in this series, but this book brought back the elements and characters I loved from the first novel, plus intoducing more awesome lore and content. The space battles were amazing, and the underlying mystery of the novel was most satisfying.

An Awkward Romance, but its fun

This story explores Luke finding his place in the Rebellion shortly after Episode IV. It mostly focuses on his mission and developing new characters introduced in this story, but also explores Luke's first steps learning about the Force. A romantic subplot goes on throughout the book which was solid, and some of the action scenes got surprisngly graphic. Very "Aliens" vibe sometimes.

Solid story. Good performance.
