Historia
22-year-old Eileen goes missing while hiking in the remote Ashlough Forest. Five days later, her camera is discovered washed downriver, containing bizarre photos taken after her disappearance. Chris wants to believe Eileen is still alive. When the police search is abandoned, he and four of his friends create their own search party to scour the mountain range. As they stray further into the dark forest and the unsettling discoveries mount, they begin to believe they’re not alone in the trees and that Eileen’s disappearance wasn’t an accident.

that was harrowing
Revisado: 12-06-24
every time I think I have a Darcy Coates book that is my favorite it sits that way for a period of time and then I discover a new one that I now think is my favorite. so I'm going to have to save this, where he can't find you, and Ashburn House are my top three favorite Darcy coats.
Hunted is truly a shocking and very original story. just when you think you've got it all figured out there's another twist that makes you question yourself. this book has adventure and mystery. The end is not at all where I expected it to be.

great story horrible narrator
Revisado: 12-04-24
I cannot stand the guy who read this book. his narration is awful. it sounded like it was being read by an AI from a computer. there was no emotion no affectation period just flat boring voice. it was unsettling. if I wanted to listen to a robot I would just buy them on my Kindle and tell my Kindle to read to me. I do not like that. I will not get any other books that he narrates.

Historia
Twenty-year-old Violet Sorrengail was supposed to enter the Scribe Quadrant, living a quiet life among books and history. Now, the commanding general—also known as her tough-as-talons mother—has ordered Violet to join the hundreds of candidates striving to become the elite of Navarre: dragon riders. But when you’re smaller than everyone else and your body is brittle, death is only a heartbeat away...because dragons don’t bond to “fragile” humans. They incinerate them.

Historia
Patricia Campbell's life has never felt smaller. Her ambitious husband is too busy to give her a goodbye kiss in the morning, her kids have their own lives, her senile mother-in-law needs constant care, and she's always a step behind on thank-you notes and her endless list of chores. The one thing she has to look forward to is her book club, a close-knit group of Charleston women united by their love of true crime and paperback fiction. At these meetings they're as likely to talk about the Manson family as they are marriage, motherhood, and neighborhood gossip.

drug on too long
Revisado: 11-27-24
parts of the story are really slow and really dragong far longer than was necessary. however it did take some very unique perspectives to a vampire story and I did enjoy the conclusion. I just wish we had got to the conclusion a little quicker.

great first novel
Revisado: 11-20-24
The story started good and then got flow and then got good and then got slow one more time all in the first half. then the entire second half just went strong. this is an incredible first novel. this is definitely an author I will look out for and hope to see more of. I certainly hope that there is more to this story. I want a full series from this.
I love the world building in this book. we are taking to a fully new society on a new planet with rules and societal norms that are not what we have here. The story was a beautiful mixture of sci-fi and fantasy. it was a human story but told in such a fun and unique way. there are so many characters worth loving and other to sympathize for but also wish for them to make better choices as well as characters to hate.
The author did a great job with attention to detail while building this new world for us to enjoy. I have a clear vision in my head of what this society looks like. I can see the way that they build their building and dress themselves and do their hair.

Penny hates the outdoors, but when her boyfriend, Jared, plans a romantic weekend getaway in the woods, she decides to tag along. The pair drive to a remote Kentucky campground with a strange and sordid history. Within the confines of the Swan Creek State Park are the ruins of a town abandoned under terrifying circumstances in the 19th century. a lot of fun
Revisado: 11-04-24
Amber's Insen has become an author I look for. I've read all of the beaconing Dead books that are out so far and now this one. And one other one before although the title is currently escaping me. I have thoroughly enjoyed all of them. He is a intriguing writer. I like the way he builds a story. He's also quite good at creating suspense. from what I've read so far he's definitely more thriller than horror but I absolutely enjoy it this particular book was a short fun tale. I liked the relationship between the two characters as well as the environment that he created. The narrator was quite talented.

loved the end
Revisado: 10-28-24
I loved the end of this book. some of the middle I could have done without. However it was a unique turn on the old haunted house idea. Overall I did enjoy it.
The naration was the best part. Truly a gifted reader/preformer. I hope we get to hear more from her. As of right now this is the only reading she has on Audible.

original, creepy and fun
Revisado: 09-27-24
Darcy coats has quickly become one of my absolute favorite authors. I love her writing style and her stories. she doesn't tell stories she weaves them. where he can't find you is one of the best yarns she has wove yet. it has some thing for all the audience who would like this type of book. Great story is a friendship and different family dynamics. genuinely creepy. it also has some mystery and some adventure. The only thing that this book is not is a love story. And I'm fine with that. not every horror has to have a romance to it too. although there are some undertones to a possible romantic future for two characters. no spoilers though.

fantastic story; poor reader
Revisado: 09-22-24
I genuinely loved this story. it was fun and I enjoyed the characters. I don't know that I'll listen to the sequels though because they're all red by the same narrator. she annoys me all the way to my very soul. she pronounces the word library like lieberry. over and over and over. And the main character and her only friends are librarians at the local public library. so the word comes up a lot. And it's like I'd get so into the story I'd forget about it and then that word would pop up and she would just make me scream and want to punch myself in the face
