M. E. Roche does it again in this installment of the Nora Brady series. This time, Nora goes undercover to bust an arson ring, but the bad guys always seem one step ahead, and Nora doesn't know whom she can trust.

Roche weaves multiple subplots, keeping the reader guessing as to the identity of the true culprit. The novel paints a realistic picture of undercover investigation and keeps the reader engaged to the last page.

The story should have ended after the showdown at the Institute, with a short explanation of what happened to the kids. The very lengthy exposition of the exact purpose of the Institute felt pasted on. Should follow Hitchcock's McGuffin example. It doesn't matter what is in the bottle. The only thing that is important is that every depends on securing it.
