First off, full disclosure: I had tried to read this book, e-book that is, for the longest time(i think 3 separate attempts) but I kept getting stuck. I gave up on this and even went on to read the next book in the series because I just could not get into this book. Who knew I just needed the audio to realise what a good story it was? lol

From the very first second of the performance, the narrator(Declan Winters) had me hooked. His interpretation of the voices were spot on and made the story flow effortlessly. He truly brought what had been a lost cause (for me) to life and I enjoyed everything about his delivery immensely.

Sure, the pacing could've used a bit more work and some of Ford's hangups had me a bit frustrated but all in all, this was a solid book and I thought he and the reforming mafioso Luca made a great couple. It was also great seeing the established couples from the previous books make appearances which nudged stubborn Ford in the right direction.

Since I'd already read the next book, it was great to see how Ford's past influenced agent Hughes from the the horses own mouth as they say.

I would love to have a novella on how Rand's housekeeper/butler managed to snag not one, but two partners being as low key as he was. That should make for an interesting story. Lol.

I would recommend the Audiobook version of this series for those who, like me, had struggled with the books in their ebook/hardcopy formats. Trust me, it makes a world of difference.

Good story, Steamy Time

Logan was just getting out of an abusive relationship with the devil herself, also known as Miranda. Speaking of which, she deserved the deepest pits of hell. Logan's family was not much better. So so selfish.

I experienced this book in audio and I thought the voice performance was pretty good. He managed to have give us three distinct voices which I appreciated but I thought Declanwas Midwestern and his voice sounded a bit Southern but that might just be me.

Moving on, I liked and enjoyed the story. I will admit that the proposition was pretty out there but at its heart, It was about three men finding their way towards a HEA together. I did find the transition from the purely physical side to the emotional side a bit rushed and borderline "instalovey". I would've loved to have had more of the transition although I will say they were truly the sweetest regardless.

Also, I must state that this book had copious, COPIOUS amounts of sex so be advised before you touch this and do NOT listen to it without earphones. You’ve been warned. Lol

All in all, aside my issues around the relationship development, I enjoyed this book.

Brilliant Narration made an already great story even better.

I don't believe there is any other way to describe this book than to say it was simply... Excellent.

I loved reading about my revolutionary darling Silas , his Tory love Dominic and all the wonderfulness(new word don't care) in this awesome book. I enjoyed it as much as the first read(if not more) and it's still one my fave MM reads. This series is just brilliant.

The intrigue, the pace, the dialogue, the characters, the feels, EVERY SINGLE THING was excellent I tell you!

I'd already read the ebook version of this book and decided to give the audio book version a chasing it came with my membership.

Sade to say it was the best decision ever. The story was brought to light by the narrator and was sheer perfection in voice performance. I can't say anything else than say this is HIGHLY recommended.

Go get it.

Excellent Narrator for a Favourite Books

The love I have for this book is eternal! I make sure to read it at lead once a year.

So for this years reread, I decided to go the audiobook route and although I was initially apprehensive that the audiobook might mar my fave book, I pressed on and boy was I pleasantly surprised! I dare say the audiobook made me love the story MORE!

The narrator,Peter Petkoff, was excellent. Every single voice in this book was unique and full of life. He captured Néomi’s voice perfectly and gave me a Conrad’s voice performance I didn’t even know I needed. Excellent I tell you!

For the story proper, I guess the thing that keeps me going back to this book is the redemption of Conrad and Néomi(though in vastly different ways) , and the way the Heroine had a steel backbone to her. None of the TSTL girlies here.

So yeah, LOVED this and might just be re-listening to this audio till the end of time 😊😊

Great but could've been Awesome!

I read and listened to this book side by side and I must say that had I solely listened to the audiobook, this book would've been rated 3 Stars but the writing was very good per the ebook so I had to bump this up by a star.

Now, the audio was not bad per se, but it certainly was not the best I'd heard from Michael Pauley. I definitely know it's not the story because it was great as I said, so it might just be me not feeling Mr Pauley's narration for this title a 100%. He did extremely well when it came to the supporting cast of characters(i.e Charlie, Seb, Tegan, Ky, etc) with an extra shot of greatness for his portrayal of Charlie but all the issues for me came with the performances of the MCs.

I think his performance of Grant was marginally better than Justin who sounded like he had a cold and sometimes even sounded whiny at some points. I know Justin was this whirlwind of energy and impulsiveness all that but I just wish he had nailed it better. I know he could have.

With all of that all the way, this was my first book by Lane Hayes who I'd been meaning to get to for some time now. I finally did with this and I was not disappointed. I enjoyed the story and hopefully the next books in the series will be just as good as this was. I pray we get a book about Sebastian and another on the fabulous Charlie! Make it happen please Lane! I beg of you!
