The story was good, overall, and the narration was well done. Lori Prince and Quinn Riley always do a great job. I have to be honest and say that, for the most part, Saylor irritated me to no end. I understand where her issues were stemming from... truly, I do... but I also just wanted her to grow a backbone and just get on with it...own it and advocate for herself. I don't regret listening the book at all but, as a main character, I found it hard to remain in her corner.

There is absolutely nothing to dislike in this book. I found that I never wanted it to end! I wanted more! Haley Cass and Lori Prince are a wonderful team and they always offer me a place of refuge when I need a break from what's going on in the world around me. Get this book! Trust me, it will give you all the feels and you'll be left wanting more.

Another hot hit from Arias with fantastic narration, as always. Am I the only one who wants a follow up novel centered on Felicity finding unexpected love again? The characters in this book were so fun...I want more! Perhaps this story was a wonderful initial offering and Felicity's hard won heart is the perfect main course. ❤️

The overall story really is very good. My only complaint is the narration. Quinn is great, as usual, but I found the accent of the other narrator to be distracting. It was like her chapters changed the characters into members of the NY mafia or something. In my opinion, it didn't fit the characters (especially the guys) in this story.

As stated above, this book is EVERYTHING. The narration is perfect, as well. I've listened to dozens of novels within this genre on Audible and this is absolutely in my top 5... possibly my top 3...Do yourselves a favor and spend the credit. This is one of those stories that will be on repeat in my library. Thank you, J.J. Arias and Kingsley Rose!

It really is a good book and the suspense/action was welcome addition to this slow-burn romance. The only thing that turned me off about it actually came when the MCs confessed their feelings....I just thought that the language used during their exchanges was... unrealistic, or maybe it was simply corny. Seriously, who talks like that in real life? It turned into a stereotypical soap opera pairing... and mirrored the other main couple in the book, Lee and Dana. "Yes, my love..." "No, dearest..." "Oh, love...." It turned their union into something cringe-worthy for me. The narration was decent, though I too had issues determining who was talking at times. Overall, substance of the book was really very good. I loved the crime/ suspense and the build-up to the union of the MCs. The novel could have been better when they did finally come together and, therefore, it's a 4/5 in my opinion.

This was freakin hilarious! I think this is my favorite Robin Alexander novel and Lori Prince is absolutely spot on....I listened to this for free, as part of the membership, but I loved it SO much that I'm going to buy it so that I always have a laugh when I need it!

This has quickly become one of my favorite novels. The characters are likeable and as others have mentioned, there is little angst. The only real issue that I had with this audio recording was the narration. Lula Larkin is a very good narrator and I can see why so many people enjoy her work. For me, however, I prefer a narrator who is a bit less.... theatrical? I'm not sure how to describe it. There were times I felt like I was listening to an audition or a script run-through. While narration is very close to those things, I want to get engrossed in the story. I want to forget that it's a performance and really feel like I'm experiencing the story, you know? It was like "Lula Larkin as Monica" and "Lula Larkin as Aubrey"...... not simply Monica and Aubrey. I know it sounds overly critical; it's simply a matter of preference. Overall, the book is really very sweet and I'll be listening to it again when I need to smile.

Overall, I enjoyed listening to this novel and Angela Dawe always delivers. I personally found Arte to be quite petulant and, at times, I found it hard to root for her because of her attitude and how she responded Charlotte later in the book. She acted like someone much younger than 38 years old. In addition, I think that Banting was a bit heavy-handed when she pushed the life lessons and changes in character as overtly as she did in this particular novel. What I mean is that there are times when the reader can "see" the transformations (their obligations, happiness, legacy, growth, etc..) characters experience in novels. This book seemed to dwell on those lessons and it felt redundant, impressing upon the reader what the point was rather than allowing the reader to come by it on their own during the course of the novel. I don't regret listening to this book at all and will continue to download more from Banting in the future.
