Historia
Viktor Orlov had a longstanding appointment with death. Once Russia’s richest man, he now resides in splendid exile in London, where he has waged a tireless crusade against the authoritarian kleptocrats who have seized control of the Kremlin. His mansion in Chelsea’s exclusive Cheyne Walk is one of the most heavily protected private dwellings in London. Yet somehow, on a rainy summer evening, in the midst of a global pandemic, Russia’s vengeful president finally manages to cross Orlov’s name off his kill list.

Disappointed
Revisado: 07-15-21
I had been so looking forward to this new book after "the Order". This one seems to be a rehash of other books, same formula, a few new names. It appears that Silva has some key words that bring in some previously written phrases that repeat throughout several books, sort of "find and replace". I am about half way through and having a very hard time staying interested enough to finish.
"The Order" should have been the last. That said, it must be hard to churn out a book every year and keep it fresh, perhaps Silva is tired of Allon and is trying to push his own political thoughts into the books to please himself.

Main character is impossibly flawed.
Revisado: 01-16-20
This is the first book I have ever "exchanged" through Audible. I liked the Sophie Hannah -Agatha Christie books, so I thought I would like this author's other books. NOT SO!. The main character is very unrealistic ,and boring. I really tried to get into the story, to find some element of sympathy for the character, but it was a waste of my time. Definitely do not recommend this book. I hope I do not have a problem getting my credit back.

Excellent narrator used accents only when appropriate. Lovely story, lots of insight into the period and the human condition in general.

Historia
“In wartime,” Winston Churchill wrote, “truth is so precious that she should always be attended by a bodyguard of lies.” For Britain’s counterintelligence operations, this meant finding the unlikeliest agent imaginable - a history professor named Alfred Vicary, handpicked by Churchill himself to expose a highly dangerous, but unknown, traitor. The Nazis, however, have also chosen an unlikely agent.

This book is a compelling page turner. Silva keeps you interested from the very beginning. Lots of twists and turns, but very realistic.

Ok but not memorable.
Revisado: 09-23-18
Main character is not believable. She too often engages in risky behavior which is inconsistent with the general way in which she is drawn. It doesn't seem like another dimension of her character, but just a silly turn.
