Historia
Jade has spent her life fighting boredom in the terminally ill ward. Surfing the net or reading, she always envied the ability of others to go out and experience the world. She knew her wish to live a normal life was far beyond her reach, but after waking up one morning without the sounds of her life support, she opens her eyes and finds herself with a weak but healthy body in a magical world.

Fun stuff
Revisado: 09-26-20
Essentially, the MC is someone that was unable to walk and was hospitalized for most of her life, and gets transported to another world. Same emaciated weak body, but healed and able to walk. Gets the ability to get a small percentage of a chosen stat and ability of someone she touches. This book takes place over the course of about a week (the next book also takes about a week or so), and she starts to go through a transformation each night as she becomes healthier/stronger/better looking with the new ever increasing stats. She also is able to obtain a high amount of abilities from everyone, including most of the many different magic types (most people might have 1-3 or so different types). Uses her modern knowledge of science and general rpg magic theory to improve things and create new stuff. I like the MC, who has good character growth, personality, approach to things, and isn't one-note. There are a lot of abilities, so each time they go over the full stat sheet can take a few minutes. But overall, I really like this. It's fun and people should get it (I'm 3 books in). Get it

Historia
For thousands of years, there has been a cycle: a Demon King rises and conquers, and a Hero is reborn a hundred years later to defeat him. Each time, civilizations are ground to dust beneath the Demon King's hordes, but humanity has remained secure in the belief that a Hero of legend will always save them. There's just one slight problem. It's only been 23 years since the Demon King's latest rise, and this time, he's already conquered more than half the world. If humanity simply waits for the Hero's return, there may be no world left for him to save.

Great parody/creative application of exploits
Revisado: 09-26-20
This story has a very high basis in mimicking the outline of Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, with additional general focus on jrpgs and rpg class systems. It's greats at calling into question a lot of silly video game logic, chosen one acceptance, stubborn characters sticking to roles they have been given, and applies a lot of great creative application of exploits, such as spamming the same ability over and over to level up, using spatial magic to put capture important immovable landmarks, or doing dungeons out of order. It's pretty fun and is a standalone book.

Another great one!
Revisado: 09-26-20
The world building for this series is pretty top tier and unique. The modern USA cultivation society that has advanced from a past of xianxia like past is really interesting. In the previous book, we had a good fighter with low resources start to advance and make good gains through underground tournaments, benefactors, and more refined intense training. In this, he is in a better place financially but trying to get a job with an organization that looks into anomalies. More great character growth. It's great. Get it. Favorite moment: Talking to a succubus looking to make a bonded contract with a human, who talks about how bad/messed the job market is for demons, essentially requiring experience at tempting humans for an entry level job, when you need the job in order to be able get the experience tempting humans.

Love the concept. Great world building
Revisado: 09-26-20
This is a cultivation novel set in an alternate modern USA. What makes it especially interesting is that it acknowledges a past where martial arts cultivation has pretty much always been a thing, as though the world in general had recently advanced from ancient xianxia setting, but that was the case across the whole world. And it touches on the history from time to time. But at the same time, its otherwise very similar to modern society, but using energy from martial arts cultivation as an alternate form of cultivation, and is generally looked upon as a salary (27,000 generation per year vs 55,000, etc). The characters are great. The system and world are very detailed. Great narration. Get this.

I want more. Give me more of this world. It's an amazing system with great characters and a wild adventure. Also, I love that Nora is the hero who is just mad she has to be the hero because no heroes apparently are showing up.

Historia
Zeke and his friends have a final few obstacles standing in their way before they can try and find a way into the Hells. Everything to this point has been an effort to rescue their buddy, Balmur. One obstacle happens to be a mythical beast that might sooner eat than help them, but no big deal...right? Beyond that, all the group needs to do is find the hidden city of the High Elves and convince them to join their cause.

Revisado: 01-03-20
It's a great series. The races are the most imaginative I've seen in gamelit. The adventures are original/not typical in terms of the places they go so its not some sort of super predictable storyline or rehash. The characters flawed choices do backfire on themselves if they aren't careful. It's good stuff. Buy it.

Chris and his friends had been hearing voices begging for help, but aren’t dreams supposed to stay dreams? When they finally answer the call, they’re pulled into a fantastic world with themes similar to modern role-playing games. The world of Brindolla. This is what every gamer has always wanted...right?

Familiar and fresh
Revisado: 07-08-19
This book is a fun ride. The races are innovative/hybrids. The main character is a Kitsune (as opposed to most other main characters who mostly just choose humans or some form of elf, so that the character looks like themselves or somewhat similar). There are also other races like Fae Orc and I think a dark elf dragonkin monk. The story is semi basic as portal fantasy gamelit goes, but it's all pretty great. Later on they go to the Fae dimension, which I don't think I've seen in any books I've read. This isn't a lone wolf mc. he is with a lot of his buddies. Pretty fresh. Go for it.

First Viridian Gate book- antagonist's perspective
Revisado: 04-06-19
The Viridian Gate series is great. This goes over the events of the first book from the antagonist's point of view. And as the creator of the game, he knows most all of the exploits in terms of min-maxing for the best outcome. He chooses an artificer class, which is a bit of a secret class (I think only a few people can teach it, after you display aptitude in certain ways, and happen to be friendly with the teacher). This is a class that highly rewards preparation, with traps and things of the like. Very cool stuff. It also goes another plot of his investors trying to overthrow him or push him around. This might me a one off, but it was a pretty fun book that expanded the perspective on the events of the world.
