Disappointed
Revisado: 09-24-20
I bought this book to learn about RBG. I listened to about two hours and learned very little about Ruth. Most of the book up to that point was about other judges.

Historia
As President Trump’s national security advisor, John Bolton spent many of his 453 days in the room where it happened, and the facts speak for themselves. The result is one of the few White House memoirs to date by a top-level official. With almost daily access to the president, John Bolton has produced a precise rendering of his days in and around the Oval Office. What Bolton saw astonished him: a president for whom getting reelected was the only thing that mattered, even if it meant endangering or weakening the nation.

If you want to read/listen to a book that tells you what a great person John Bolton thinks he is--this is the book for you. As far as learning anything new about the Trump presidency--this is not the book for you.

Great Story
Revisado: 03-09-19
This is one of the best books I have ever read/listened to. I have listened to this book several times. It gives a very interesting look at our society and how we try to make things better for some people but end up making a real mess out of the situation.

Historia
"Years ago, I wrote about a retail store in the Palo Alto environs—a good one, which had a box of two-cent candies at the checkout. I subsequently remember that 'little' parting gesture of the two-cent candy as a symbol of all that is Excellent at that store. Dozens of people who have attended seminars of mine have come up to remind me, sometimes 15 or 20 years later, of “the two-cent candy story,” and to tell me how it had a sizable impact on how they did business."

Boring Book
Revisado: 01-20-16
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
I found the book very boring. He had list after list of things to do. His list went on and on and on for about 160 chapters. In past books, the author told stories about successful businesses. This book had very few stories and list after list after list after list of things to do.
Has The Little Big Things turned you off from other books in this genre?
This is probably the last Tom Peters book I will read.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Tom Peters?
He is a fine narrator. The problem with the book has nothing to do with the narrator.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
I really didn't find any redeeming qualities. I have found Mr. Peters past books to be very fine.
Any additional comments?

Historia
In The Black Swan Taleb outlined a problem, and in Antifragile he offers a definitive solution: how to gain from disorder and chaos while being protected from fragilities and adverse events. For what Taleb calls the "antifragile" is actually beyond the robust, because it benefits from shocks, uncertainty, and stressors, just as human bones get stronger when subjected to stress and tension. The antifragile needs disorder in order to survive and flourish. Taleb stands uncertainty on its head, making it desirable, even necessary, and proposes that things be built in an antifragile manner.

What A Dull Book!
Revisado: 12-01-12
What disappointed you about Antifragile?
Almost impossible to apply the author's findings to a practical application.
Would you ever listen to anything by Nassim Nicholas Taleb again?
Ablsolutely Not!
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Extreme disappointment.
Any additional comments?

History Lesson
Revisado: 07-02-12
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
This book is to much like reading a history book. The book for the most part is dull.
What was most disappointing about Candy Moulton’s story?
In stead of writing the book like a history book, it would have been more interesting to tell it has a story. A living story--not a dull recounting of the historical facts.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
Spent more time telling really good stories. The stories were for the most part very short and not long enough to hold your interest.

Not Nearly As Good I Had Hoped It Would Be
Revisado: 02-15-12
What disappointed you about The End of Illness?
His big pitch is to sell you on getting your blood tested by his company. Most of the information he gives in the book that is practical/down to earth has already been reported in every day news reports. Learned very little except that he owns a company that tests blood and this will be the new medicine in the next generation.
Did the narration match the pace of the story?
The reader was O.K.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The End of Illness?
Most of the entire first part.
Any additional comments?
Not worth listening to the audio.
