Historia
In December 1937, in the capital of China, one of the most brutal massacres in the long annals of wartime barbarity occurred. The Japanese army swept into the ancient city of Nanking and within weeks not only looted and burned the defenseless city but systematically raped, tortured and murdered more than 300,000 Chinese civilians. Amazingly, the story of this atrocity- one of the worst in world history- continues to be denied by the Japanese government.

Historia
Some of the cruelest deeds of Japan's war in Asia did not occur on the battlefield, but in quiet, antiseptic medical wards in obscure parts of China. Far from front lines and prying eyes, Japanese doctors and their assistants subjected human guinea pigs to gruesome medical experiments in the name of science and Japan's wartime chemical and biological warfare research. Author Hal Gold draws upon a wealth of sources to construct a portrait of the Imperial Japanese Army's most notorious medical unit, giving an overview of its history and detailing its most shocking activities.

Clinical but human
Revisado: 03-21-24
I felt it was as respectful of the victims (as much as possible) while still getting across the true horror of the extent of the experimentation.

Historia
Euphemistically labeled as the "Water Supply and Prophylaxis Administration" and "HippoEpizootic Administration" of the Imperial Japanese Army, Unit 731 and Unit 100, as well as their subsidiary branches, performed human experimentation on the innocents under the leadership of Dr. Ishii Shiro. Although the exact number of victims is unclear since the Japanese destroyed most of the evidence at the end of the war, but it ranged from 3,000-250,000 innocent men, women, and children.

Obvious AI
Revisado: 03-16-24
This was written with the help of a program like Chat GPT and voiced by AI. I have no way of proving that other than to tell you to listen to it for yourself. I was suspicious immediately because of the odd intonations of the narrator but I was sure it was AI written as well when I noticed it repeating the same thing back to back using synonyms. Things like "they were poor and had very little money" or saying "a department of sanitation was established" and then two sentences later "they devised a plan to establish a sanitation department". It's obvious "make longer" padding. I couldn't get through the first hour it was honestly painful to listen to. Just read the Wikipedia page about the project. You'll have a better experience.
