Brings me to memories of picking this issue up
Revisado: 06-18-23
it was great to hear all the info and work behind this iconic issue of XXL. it brings back great memories of how eager I was as a teen to read these Hip Hop publications on a monthly basis. I recall sharing, debating and gazing at these often. this particular episode highlights one of the dopest issues. great listen for any one whom is true to the culture.

Historia
Fat Joe is a hip-hop legend, but this is not a tale of celebrity; it is the story of Joseph Cartagena, a kid who came of age in the South Bronx during its darkest years of drugs, violence, and abandonment, and how he navigated that traumatizing landscape until he found—through art, friendship, luck, and will—a rocky path to a different life. This memoir, written in Joe’s own intensely compelling voice, moves with the momentum of pulp fiction, but underneath the tragicomedy and riveting tales of the streets and the industry is a thought-provoking story about a generation of survivors.

This Book is Gripping, And Entertaining.
Revisado: 11-20-22
Joe's Story is an amazing one, tragedies and also victories. You can close your eyes and listen to the book and feel like you are walking with him through a journey through the Bronx and witnessing Hip Hop Culture as well as the dangers of NYC's housing projects. this Audible is read with sound effects to add to an amazing tale the production feels as if Fat Joe is talking directly to you and bonding with you. this book is a movie as each word comes across as gripping with emotion. At times the book will make you laugh and at times perhaps even cry. The Book of Jose could be a movie and I'm certain one day it will be. Fair warning to Hollywood as Joe would say "Yesterday's Price Is Not Today's Price"
