Historia
Scientists have shown bilingualism to be brain-changing. It can also be life-changing. In America's Bilingual Century, author Steve Leveen takes you on a journey of reinvention - of yourself, your children, and the country - that takes place when we embrace bilingualism. Based on a decade of research and hundreds of interviews with experts and successful bilinguals, Steve found that a new America is emerging: One where more and more people are speaking English and another language.

Bringing Bilingualism to Life
Revisado: 04-21-21
I have been considering how to bring bilingualism into my own life for decades. I have struggled with the stops and starts and all the concepts and approaches from Rosetta Stone, to immersion to sleep learning to teachers to you name it. The missing link that this book brings into crystal clear focus is simple-there is no one size fits all or fits most. Success is a long term plan using a style and approach tied to how you learn and your own personal lifestyle/habits etc. The book explores all the avenues and helps you understand just where your style, time and approach is likely to have the greatest chance for success-kind of like a laser guided missile for language learning. This is a very impressive and comprehensive work that should be part of every language and/or linguistics program at every university but also really works for anyone just interested in making bilingualism part of a lifelong learning plan.

Historia
The Energy Caper, or Nixon in the Sky with Diamonds takes you on a merry romp with a band of twenty-something idealists looking for love and hoping to change the world in an alternate universe in which the Kennedys were not assassinated and the Vietnam War ended before it began. Joining in the fun are President Richard Nixon and Dr. Timothy Leary, the escaped convict Nixon calls "the most dangerous man in the world" for turning America's youth into no-good hippies.

Fun and thoroughly creative look back at Nixon era
Revisado: 09-13-15
This was a very enjoyable historical walk through the Nixon era. The way the story let you in on our countries long standing lack of a cohesive energy policy through likeable characters and plot twists was really innovative. It was a great reimagination of what might have been taking the reader to unique places and encounters as if you were there and it really happened. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys historical fiction and especially those who remember Nixon first hand or who find energy policy, or lack thereof, a worthy subject to ponder. I would strongly recommend this book.
